Having tried just about every diet since the invention of elasticated trousers, joined every fitness club within strolling distance of the pub, and spent a small countrys GDP on personal trainers, Mitch Webber was somewhat disappointed to find himself fifty years old and technically obese. With no desire to transform his physique into that of Connan the Barbiturate and without wanting to become a food-bore (one of those people who spend more time investigating the ingredients of a meal than enjoying the company), Mitch decided to see if there was a way to make some tolerable adjustments to his lifestyle in order to get back into reasonable shape. Just Did It! is the result of those successful efforts. It is an easy guide to adjusting your lifestyle, a bit, in order to start to lose weight over time. It offers guidance on how to get into running, how to get a good workout down at the park, and how to eat sensibly four days a week in order to be able to enjoy social eating on the weekendsincluding a wee bit of social drinking too. The book covers an exercise program, a program to get you jogging, and an approach to sensible eating. Its a programme that you can do. Its a reasonable approach that doesnt require you to become a monk or a self-righteous vegan for the next fifteen years. It understands real life, real people, and the real reason we havent been able to succeed with other dietshuman nature and the attraction of every decent chef and cookery programme on the TV. So if you have looked sadly at a recent group photo, thinking that it was about time that you took a few steps towards reducing your girth, then this is the book for you. You can do it. It doesnt have to be hell. Just decide to make a difference, buy the book, and get on with it. Just do it! Lets hope you think the same as Mitch. Take his advice, hes been there, read it, bought it, and most importantly, done it. So get moving, take control of your health, shed some weight, get fit, live life, hopefully a long life, and just do it. An accessible guide showing all people how to create and sustain diversity and inclusivity in the workplace—no matter your identity, industry, or level of experience Offering real-life accounts that illustrate common workplace occurrences around inclusivity and answers to questions like “How do I identify and handle diversity landmines at work?” and “What can I do when I’ve made a mistake?” this handbook breaks down ways that organizations (and all people) can improve their cultural awareness and become more equitable in their work and personal relationships. We know that diverse teams are stronger, smarter, and more profitable, and many companies are attempting to hire more diverse teams, but most struggle to create a real culture of inclusivity in which people from all backgrounds feel comfortable. As clinical psychologists, as well as individuals with marginalized identities, Dr. Stephanie Pinder-Amaker and Dr. Lauren Wadsworth show the emotional and physical impact of marginalization and how that leads to a decrease in employee engagement and, often, increased job turnover. “Did That Just Happen?!” will be invaluable for employees who come from underrepresented communities and identities (identities discussed include race, age, disability, sexual orientation, citizenship status, and gender expression). But the book is essential for leaders of companies, supervisors, HR departments, and for anyone who wants to understand and support diversity/equity/inclusion practices. The book will also make readers feel more confident in their navigating of friendships/interactions with people who hold different identities.

It’s 1984, and 13-year-old Tim is sitting on the school roof, waiting for the world to end. Or at least for it to start making sense. His life used to make sense. It was made up of two things: the exciting new world of home computers, and worries about nuclear war. There were certainly no girls in it. But then he met Penny, who’s into pop music, and somehow manages to be optimistic about life, despite having a very difficult mother. (Difficult, as in, she sometimes throws roof tiles at people.) For the first time since the death of his own mother three years ago, Tim starts to see a whole new possibility in life. Then he loses Penny. So what else is there to do but climb onto the school roof and wait for the world to end?
