He may, with the approbation of the House, appoint three Assistant Secretaries, and the Secretary and Assistant Secretaries shall continue in office until the organization of the next Convention, and until their successors be chosen. If, durin the recess of the General Convention, a vacancy should occur in the ogoe of Secreta the duties thereof shall devolve upon the Assistant Secretaries, or, if t e Assistant Secretaries shall die or resign, a Secretary shall be appointed by the Standing Committee of the Diocese in which the next General Conven tion is to meet.
