John Hanes (d.1815) died in Tyler Co., VA. He and his wife Mary were the parents of Betsy, Susan, Polly, Sally, John, Joseph, Jacob, Abraham, David, Nathan and Peter. Mary's maiden name may have been Mary Myers (d.1844) and was buried near New Martinsville, W. VA. Their son Abraham (b.1783) was born in Loudoun Co., VA. A record found in Loudoun Co. shows a signature by John Henz in 1780. His son Peter was born in Pennsylvania (ca1799-1800). Descendants lived in West Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Oklahoma, California, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.
