The paper on De Quincey and Coleridge appeared in the Fortnightly Review for October 1867, and that on Ebenezer Elliott in the Supplement to the Manchester Examiner for the shortest day of the year 1850. Advantage has been taken of the opportunity afforded by republication for the insertion of certain additions and corrections.
