“A twisty, cold-case mystery custom made for fans of Sara Shepard, PLL and Veronica Mars! The edge-of-your-seat plot, sinister backstory and smart, brave and irreverent main character made this whodunit unputdownable.”—Justine Magazine In To Catch a Killer, a contemporary mystery by debut author Sheryl Scarborough, a teenage girl uses forensic science to solve the cold-case murder of her mother. Erin Blake has one of those names. A name that is inextricably linked to a grisly crime. As a toddler, Erin survived for three days alongside the corpse of her murdered mother, and the case—which remains unsolved—fascinated a nation. Her father's identity unknown, Erin was taken in by her mother's best friend and has become a relatively normal teen in spite of the looming questions about her past. Fourteen years later, Erin is once again at the center of a brutal homicide when she finds the body of her biology teacher. When questioned by the police, Erin tells almost the whole truth, but never voices her suspicions that her mother's killer has struck again in order to protect the casework she's secretly doing on her own. Inspired by her uncle, an FBI agent, Erin has ramped up her forensic hobby into a full-blown cold-case investigation. This new murder makes her certain she's close to the truth, but when all the evidence starts to point the authorities straight to Erin, she turns to her longtime crush (and fellow suspect) Journey Michaels to help her crack the case before it's too late. Speaking Being: Werner Erhard, Martin Heidegger, and a New Possibility of Being Human is an unprecedented study of the ideas and methods developed by the thinker Werner Erhard. In this book, those ideas and methods are revealed by presenting in full an innovative program he developed in the 1980s called The Forum—available in this book as a transcript of an actual course led by Erhard in San Francisco in December of 1989. Since its inception, Erhard’s work has impacted the lives of millions of people throughout the world. Central to this study is a comparative analysis of Erhard’s rhetorical project, The Forum, and the philosophical project of Martin Heidegger. Through this comparative analysis, the authors demonstrate how each thinker’s work sometimes parallels and often illuminates the other. The dialogue at work in The Forum functions to generate a language which speaks being. That is, The Forum is an instance of what the authors call ontological rhetoric: a technology of communicating what cannot be said in language. Nevertheless, what does get said allows those participating in the dialogue to discover previously unseen aspects of what it currently means to be human. As a primary outcome of such discovery, access to creating a new possibility of what it is to be human is made available. The purpose of this book is to show how communication of the unspoken realm of language—speaking being—is actually accomplished in The Forum, and to demonstrate how Erhard did it in 1989. Through placing Erhard’s language use next to Heidegger’s thinking—presented in a series of “Sidebars” and “Intervals” alongside The Forum transcript—the authors have made two contributions. They have illuminated the work of two thinkers, who independently developed similar forms of ontological rhetoric while working from very different times and places. Hyde and Kopp have also for the first time made Erhard’s extraordinary form of ontological rhetoric available for a wide range of audiences, from scholars at work within a variety of academic disciplines to anyone interested in exploring the possibility of being for human beings. From the Afterword: I regard Speaking Being as an enormously important contribution to understanding Heidegger and Erhard. The latter has received far too little serious academic attention, and this book begins to make up for that lack. Moreover, the book’s analysis of Heidegger’s thought is among the best that I have ever read. I commend this book to all readers without reservation. Michael E. Zimmerman, Professor Emeritus, University of Colorado, Boulder

From the award-winning and #1 bestselling author of The Break and The Strangers comes the final instalment in this heart-rending, utterly immersive Indigenous family saga, with a series tie-in cover. The day that Cedar-Sage Stranger has been both dreading and longing for has finally come: her sister Phoenix is getting out of prison. The effect of Phoenix' s release cascades through the community. M, the young girl whom she assaulted, is triggered by the news. Her mother, Paulina, is worried and her cousin is angry — all feel the threat of Phoenix' s release. When Phoenix is seen lingering outside the school to catch a glimpse of her son, Sparrow, the police get a call to file a report — but the next thing they know, she has disappeared. Told from various perspectives, with an unforgettable voice for each chapter, the novel is masterfully structured as a Restorative Justice Circle where all gather — both the victimized and the accused — to take account of a crime that has altered the course of their lives. The Circle considers what it means to be abandoned by the very systems that claim to offer support, how it feels to gain a sense of belonging, and the unanticipated cost of protecting those you love most.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER • From authors of Lean In and Originals: a powerful, inspiring, and practical book about building resilience and moving forward after life’s inevitable setbacks After the sudden death of her husband, Sheryl Sandberg felt certain that she and her children would never feel pure joy again. “I was in ‘the void,’” she writes, “a vast emptiness that fills your heart and lungs and restricts your ability to think or even breathe.” Her friend Adam Grant, a psychologist at Wharton, told her there are concrete steps people can take to recover and rebound from life-shattering experiences. We are not born with a fixed amount of resilience. It is a muscle that everyone can build. Option B combines Sheryl’s personal insights with Adam’s eye-opening research on finding strength in the face of adversity. Beginning with the gut-wrenching moment when she finds her husband, Dave Goldberg, collapsed on a gym floor, Sheryl opens up her heart—and her journal—to describe the acute grief and isolation she felt in the wake of his death. But Option B goes beyond Sheryl’s loss to explore how a broad range of people have overcome hardships including illness, job loss, sexual assault, natural disasters, and the violence of war. Their stories reveal the capacity of the human spirit to persevere . . . and to rediscover joy. Resilience comes from deep within us and from support outside us. Even after the most devastating events, it is possible to grow by finding deeper meaning and gaining greater appreciation in our lives. Option B illuminates how to help others in crisis, develop compassion for ourselves, raise strong children, and create resilient families, communities, and workplaces. Many of these lessons can be applied to everyday struggles, allowing us to brave whatever lies ahead. Two weeks after losing her husband, Sheryl was preparing for a father-child activity. “I want Dave,” she cried. Her friend replied, “Option A is not available,” and then promised to help her make the most of Option B. We all live some form of Option B. This book will help us all make the most of it.

Establishing a personal relationship with The Holy Spirit is vital for every Christian and believer in Christ. This is a requirement in order to effectively carry out the will and Word of God to the world at large. It was a pre-requisite for the disciples, before they were allowed to begin their mission work in sharing Christ with the world. The same applies to us. There are many who share and speak God’s Word without the lead of The Holy Spirit. The Question should be: is their mission work considered effective? The Holy Spirit and power of God, the free gift, the authority, and provider of every need, is our most important and vital need. To receive and resonate power, we must be connected to the power source and supplier of power. It is imperative for every believer to personally know, and recognize the voice of God. In addition, God must be allowed to lead and direct our every move. God should be included in every decision and aspect of our lives, and we should do nothing on our own accord. Do you really know The Lord today? Ask, and it shall be given unto you, seek, and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you! ...IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE REAL PEACE AND GOOD HEALTH, ESTABLISH THIS RELATIONSHIP & KEEP YOUR MIND ON JESUS....... .........Speak Holy Spirit.......

Here's the book that will keep you from making the same mistakes that millions have made as they navigated the rough waters of relationships. In Dear Cheryl: Advice from Tales from the Front columnist Cheryl Lavin shares her best relationship advice on subjects ranging from dealing with children to getting along with in-laws to sex. And Cheryl should know. Her nationally-syndicated column, Tales from the Front, has been running for an astonishing 30 years! In those three decades, she's heard it all, from philandering husbands to frigid wives. She's heard about the problems of meeting, the difficulties of committing and the heartbreak of divorcing. She's heard from happily married people about what they were doing right and from unhappily partnered people about what they were doing wrong. About relationship that survived decades of struggle and those that couldn't make it through a three-day weekend. Lovers who got away and lovers who wouldn't leave. And based on everything she's learned in that time, Cheryl gives advice that's both wise and witty. She isn't afraid to tell people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear, however much it may hurt. "Sometimes people are hoping against hope that I'll tell them that despite all evidence to the contrary, their significant other really does love them or really isn't cheating or really will commit one day," says Cheryl. "They need a cold reality shower and I turn on the spray." Everyday, millions of times a day, people are meeting, falling in love, falling out of love, marrying, divorcing, having their hearts broken and starting all over again. And when they run into a rough spot, they can write to Dear Cheryl. Dear Cheryl: Advice from Tales from the Front is the best of those columns. Order your copy now and you won't make the same mistakes as so many of Cheryl's readers.
