Auguste Lecerf was one of the ablest 'reformed' theologians of the twentieth century. His lectures at the University of Paris were praised for their succinctness, controversial skill and deep learning. His Introduction to Reformed Dogmatics was incomplete at the time of his death in 1943. The first two volumes, translated here, entitled De la Nature de la Connaissance Religieuse and De Fondement et de la Specification de la Connaissance Religieuse, stand on their own and form a major contribution to theology. Part I discusses the nature of religious knowledge whereas Part II concentrates on the question of apologetics in Calvinism whist exploring philosophy and dogma. Lecerf's work forms a profound study of the nature and basis of religious knowledge and offers a valuable critique of European philosophy from the standpoint of authentic or classical Calvinism. The work has become an influential and widely regarded Calvinist work, and is valued for its penetrating insights and strong Biblical emphasis. Anyone with an interest in Calvinism should remember the enigmatic words of the visitor to Lecerf's door in 1930 who introduced himself with these words: "M. Lecerf is a unique personality, they say, he is in fact the last of the Calvinists and when he dies the type will be extinct. So whatever happens, do not fail to pay him a visit.".

Herman Bavinck's four-volume Reformed Dogmatics is one of the most important theological works of the twentieth century. The recently completed English translation has received wide acclaim. Now John Bolt, one of the world's leading experts on Bavinck and editor of Bavinck's four-volume set, has abridged the work in one volume, offering students, pastors, and lay readers an accessible summary of Bavinck's masterwork. This volume presents the core of Bavinck's thought and offers explanatory materials, making available to a wider audience some of the finest Dutch Reformed theology ever written. Praise for Reformed Dogmatics "Bavinck's magisterial Reformed Dogmatics remains after a century the supreme achievement of its kind."--J. I. Packer, Regent College

This one-volume introduction to systematic theology draws deeply on the catholic and Reformed heritage to present the major doctrines of the Christian faith, displaying the power of theological retrieval for the church's renewal. Leading Reformed theologians, such as Kevin Vanhoozer, John Webster, Michael Horton, and Oliver Crisp, offer the "state of the question" on standard theological topics and engage in both exegetical and historical retrieval for the sake of theological analysis. The book represents the exciting new theological trajectory of Reformed catholicity.

A fresh, inviting text on the content of Christian faith in our contemporary context This one-volume systematic theology presents an accessible, orthodox overview of the Christian faith for students, teachers, pastors, and serious lay readers. Cornelis van der Kooi and Gijsbert van den Brink not only cover all the traditional themes-creation, sin, Jesus Christ, Scripture, and so on-but also relate those classical themes to contemporary developments like Pentecostalism, postfoundationalism, and evolutionary theory. Consisting of sixteen chapters, the book is ideal for classroom use. Each chapter begins with engaging questions and a statement of learning goals and concludes with a list of recommended further reading. Written in a student-friendly tone and style and expertly translated and edited, van der Kooi and van den Brink's Christian Dogmatics splendidly displays the real, practical relevance of theology to the complexities of our world today.
