Impact Assessment is becoming part and parcel of an increasing number of development proposals in the UK and Europe. As the practice of Impact Assessment develops it becomes more standardized and good practice starts to be defined. However, the quality of Impact Assessment is still far from satisfactory. Food and agribusiness is one of the fastest changing global markets; change that is driven by technology, developments in manufacturing and supply, and a growing consumer engagement. The success of the agri-food industry and many of our household brand names will depend on how much you understand about these changes and the extent to which you can deliver secure and competitive products in the face of growing expectations about food safety and quality, as well as changing attitudes about the environment, human diet and nutrition, and animal welfare. The Crisis of Food Brands offers perspectives on many key aspects of these changes including the role of business, policy-makers, and the media in communicating with and engaging stakeholders about: o relevant and dynamic models of risk and crisis management; o the value of innovative and, sometimes controversial, food systems; o their buying behaviour and attitudes to movements such as organic and fair trade; o how and where we source and buy our food now (and in the future). The quality of the original research that underpins this book and the imagination and practicality with which the authors address its applications for the industry is first rate. Anyone with responsibility for marketing food, communicating about the food industry, or engaging with consumers will find this an important source of ideas and inspiration.

The 2nd Biennial International Conference on Safe Community (B-ICSC) is a scientific forum for scholars to disseminate their research and share ideas. This conference was organized by Poltekkes Kemenkes Tanjungkarang, Indonesia. It took place at Emersia Hotel & Resort, Bandar Lampung, Lampung, Indonesia, on 20-21 September 2022. The B-ICSC 2022 theme is Impact of Climate Change on Human Health and Its Implications for Safe Communities. This proceeding consists of 14 papers that have been accepted and presented at the conference. The hope is that scientific attitudes and skills through research will encourage the development of knowledge produced through research from various scholars in various regions. Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks to all of the steering committee colleagues for their cooperation in organizing the conference. Hopefully, these seminars and conferences can be continued in the coming years with more insightful articles from inspiring research. We would also like to thank the invited speakers for their invaluable contributions and for sharing their visions in their talks.

Continued population growth, rapidly changing consumption patterns and the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation are driving limited resources of food, energy, water and materials towards critical thresholds worldwide. These pressures are likely to be substantial across Africa, where countries will have to find innovative ways to boost crop and livestock production to avoid becoming more reliant on imports and food aid. Sustainable agricultural intensification - producing more output from the same area of land while reducing the negative environmental impacts - represents a solution for millions of African farmers. This volume presents the lessons learned from 40 sustainable agricultural intensification programmes in 20 countries across Africa, commissioned as part of the UK Government's Foresight project. Through detailed case studies, the authors of each chapter examine how to develop productive and sustainable agricultural systems and how to scale up these systems to reach many more millions of people in the future. Themes covered include crop improvements, agroforestry and soil conservation, conservation agriculture, integrated pest management, horticulture, livestock and fodder crops, aquaculture, and novel policies and partnerships.

Climate change and global warming is one of the burning issues, which need more attention, awareness and understanding. It refers to change in average weather pattern for an extended period of time in terms of decades or millions of years. Climate change is caused by several factors like variation in solar radiation, plate movements and volcanic activities. In addition, human intervention plays a major role in ongoing climate change. The continuous rise in global temperature affecting the hydrological cycle has substantial impact on surface and sub-surface water resources. The Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2000) reports that the surging population, increasing industrialization and associated demands for freshwater, food and energy would be major areas of concern in the climate change aspect. Increase of temperature increases evaporation, resulting in droughts. Under warmer environment, more precipitation will occur as rainfall rather than snow. The changes in monsoon rainfall may be considered as measure to examine climate variability in the context of global warming. Glaciers are an important source for fresh water and considered among the most sensitive indicators of climate change. People living in the catchment areas of the Himalayas face increased risk of floods as glaciers retreat followed by drought and water scarcity. In the coming decades, it is predicted that billions of people in developing countries face shortages of water and food as a result of climate change. Rigorous action has to be taken to enable developing countries to adapt to the effects of climate change. Hence, it is an urgent need for assessing impact and vulnerabilities of climate change, as well as considering possible adaptation options. The deliberations in the conference may be useful in understanding the impact of climate change on water resource, create awareness, learning process for planning and implementing adaptation options.
