In Nov. 2007, a report was issued on the results of an audit of the IRS¿s financial statements for the FY ending, Sept. 30, 2007, and 2006, and on the effectiveness of its internal controls. The report also commented on whether IRS¿s financial mgmt. systems substantially comply with the requirements of the Fed. Financial Mgmt. Improvement Act of 1996. The purpose of this report is to discuss issues identified during the audit of IRS¿s financial statements for the FY ending Sept. 30, 2007, regarding internal controls that could be improved for which they currently do not have a specific recommendation outstanding.
