This book describes the resilient navigation techniques under the background of collaboration in swarm. The significance of this work is that it focuses on the navigation enhancement by collaboration in swarm rather than ground infrastructure, which exploit potentialities of swarm in GNSS restricted environment. Although unmanned swarm is receiving greater attention, both through theoretical research and through increasing mention in the industrial developments, the navigation promotion by effective and efficient collaboration remains largely unexplored. While my scholarly work has explored some of the modeling, error characteristic, fusion algorithm, fault detection, and isolation aspects of the “adaptive navigation system” (such as the navigation system of robots and ground vehicles, aircrafts, aerospace vehicles, and unmanned aerial vehicles), the present book proposes the specialized investigation on the navigation with the resilient character, which could maintain the performance by essential collaboration with members in swarm in GNSS degradation environment. This book focused on the resilient navigation techniques under the background of collaboration in swarm. The key techniques of collaborative resilient navigation are proposed, including the collaboration framework, collaborative observation modeling, geometry optimization, integrity augmentation, and fault detection. The experiments are also carried out to validate the effectiveness of the corresponding techniques.

The military uses to autonomous platforms to complete missions to provide standoff for the warfighters. However autonomous platforms rely on GPS to provide their global position. In many missions spaces the autonomous platforms may encounter GPS denied environments which limits where the platform operates and requires the warfighters to takes its place. GPS denied environments can occur due to tall building, trees, canyon wall blocking the GPS satellite signals or a lack of coverage. An Inertial Navigation System (INS) uses sensors to detect the vehicle movement and direction its traveling to calculate the vehicle. One of biggest challenges with an INS system is the accuracy and accumulation of errors over time of the sensors. If these challenges can be overcome the INS would provide accurate positioning information to the autonomous vehicle in GPS denied environments and allow them to provide the desired standoff for the warfighters.

This book presents a broad range of deep-learning applications related to vision, natural language processing, gene expression, arbitrary object recognition, driverless cars, semantic image segmentation, deep visual residual abstraction, brain–computer interfaces, big data processing, hierarchical deep learning networks as game-playing artefacts using regret matching, and building GPU-accelerated deep learning frameworks. Deep learning, an advanced level of machine learning technique that combines class of learning algorithms with the use of many layers of nonlinear units, has gained considerable attention in recent times. Unlike other books on the market, this volume addresses the challenges of deep learning implementation, computation time, and the complexity of reasoning and modeling different type of data. As such, it is a valuable and comprehensive resource for engineers, researchers, graduate students and Ph.D. scholars.

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of two or more wireless devices with the capability to communicate with each other without the aid of any centralized administrator. Ad hoc networks have no fixed routers, these nodes can be connected dynamically in an arbitrary manner. MANETs, due to their operational characteristics, the dynamics of their changes and the precariousness of their resources, offer huge challenges due to the architecture and service nature in the next generation of mobile communications. MANETs play an important role in the future of next-generation networks. This special collection identifies and studies the most important concerns in MANETs, and includes contributions from researchers, academics, etc.
