This report presents proceedings from six workshops on deregulation implementation held in Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe in 1993-94. Organized by the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) and the Foreign Investment Advisory Service (FIAS), the workshops focused on implementing policies relating to private investment and discussing possible improvements as ways of increasing the inflow of foreign direct investment. In 2010, the Latin American and Caribbean region showed great resilience to the international financial crisis and became the world region with the fastest-growing flows of both inward and outward foreign direct investment (FDI).
