"It was time to heal. I had to stop creating a life that I could not live. It was time for the pain and suffering to stop. There was too much pain. I will die if the pain continues. Why does my life keep ending up in the same place? Abusive marriages, divorces, lawyers, legal suits - people in my life that had alcoholism, mental illness and abusive behavior, all telling me that I am the problem. Why did I keep creating and recreating everything I did not want and vowed not to have in my life? In the process of the healing - soul searching - reading of books - discussing - studying - therapy; seemingly insignificant scenes from my childhood kept entering my mind. The scenes were overpowering me, forcing me to look at and relive the feelings that I was having at the time. I began writing down the stories and discovered very meaningful messages that I was given as a child, messages that imprinted me and shaped my life's existence. These scenes and the feelings they created caused me to experience a repetitive pattern. It did not matter if the imprints were intended to create this pattern, only that it was the pattern it created in me. Until I was genuinely ready and able to look at my imprints and beliefs, where they came from and release them - the pattern would remain." Negative imprints, beliefs, thinking and emotions cause a great deal of mental, emotional and physical distress. Negative thoughts and worry sink deep and can control your life. There is power in how you perceive your past, your relation to it and your world . Awareness of how your past affects and guides will help stop the vicious cycle 'Daddy Throws Me In The Air' is a journey through childhood memories to awareness. It includes a process to assist in releasing negative imprints and beliefs.

The reason why I wrote this book is that I am hoping that I can reachout to others who are in pain and hopefully help them persevere and cope through life’s toughest battles. I want to encourage people who are in some type of pain in hopes that I can help them recover from it. Now, the first four chapters of this book is about my life as a child growing up in a vicious atmosphere and how this same vicious cycle always seems to repeat itself. This vicious cycle grew with me into my adulthood. This book also contains what reality is like for me and how it is for others. Reality is very different for each individual, and each individual deals with it differently. I will also tell you about how I dealt with the pain and how others can learn to deal with it too. Now, if there is someone out there who is in despair and thinks that death is the only answer to all their pain, well, please, I hope that you will continue to read this book. I do pray that it will help you or help you deal with someone you know who thinks that death is the only answer. Believe me when I say that death is not the answer, because it’s not. So my purpose of my book is to help you change your perspective on life in THE MIDST OF PAIN. But it is only now that I have come to realize that after enduring some serious traumas in my life, life is good after all, and it is such a blessing to live for God. Just think how life can bring you understanding on how to use your pain as an opportunity to help others in need, who are right in the middle of a crisis. Just when you think you can’t handle no more and that you feel like you are at the end of your rope, that is when God shows up, and God will show off his blessings in your life. Please believe me when I say that this is the most beautiful and wonderful feeling to ever have. No one can make you feel as good as God does. Now, not only will God make you feel good, but he will also change your life to the good. All you have to do is just reach out and take his hand, because he is waiting for you. This book is based on the facts and the truth about my life. Now, through the pain that I have endured, I have gained some insight for the purpose of my book. I am blessed to say that this book has changed my life, and I am in hopes that it will help change other people’s lives too. The more I read my own book, the more I learn from it. I do hope that it will do the same for you too, for it is my desire to help all those who are in need of an answer. May God bless you as you read this book!

This book is based on the power of stories to support children in all areas of their lives. It examines the role narratives can play in encouraging growth in contexts and domains such as personal and family identity, creative movement, memory and self-concept, social relationships, or developing a sense of humor. Each chapter describes innovative and research-based applications of narratives such as movement stories, visual narratives to develop historical thinking, multimodal storytelling, bibliotherapy, mathematics stories, family stories, and social narratives. The chapters elaborate on the strength of narratives in supporting the whole child in diverse contexts from young children on the autism spectrum improving their social skills at school, to four- and five-year-olds developing historical thinking, to children who are refugees or asylum-seekers dealing with uncertainty and loss. Written by accomplished teachers, researchers, specialists, teaching artists and teacher educators from several countries and backgrounds, the book fills a gap in the literature on narratives. “...this work delves into the topic of narratives in young children’s lives with a breadth of topics and depth of study not found elsewhere.” “Collectively, the insights of the contributors build a convincing case for emphasizing story across the various disciplines and developmental domains of the early childhood years.” “The writing style is scholarly, yet accessible. Authors used a wide array of visual material to make their points clearer and show the reader what meaningful uses of story “look like”.” Mary Renck Jalongo, Journal and Book Series Editor Springer Indiana, PA, USA

Power in the Blood: A Family Narrative traces Linda Tate’s journey to rediscover the Cherokee-Appalachian branch of her family and provides an unflinching examination of the poverty, discrimination, and family violence that marked their lives. In her search for the truth of her own past, Tate scoured archives, libraries, and courthouses throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Illinois, and Missouri, visited numerous cemeteries, and combed through census records, marriage records, court cases, local histories, old maps, and photographs. As she began to locate distant relatives — fifth, sixth, seventh cousins, all descended from her great-greatgrandmother Louisiana — they gathered in kitchens and living rooms, held family reunions, and swapped stories. A past that had long been buried slowly came to light as family members shared the pieces of the family’s tale that had been passed along to them. Power in the Blood is a dramatic family history that reads like a novel, as Tate’s compelling narrative reveals one mystery after another. Innovative and groundbreaking in its approach to research and storytelling, Power in the Blood shows that exploring a family story can enhance understanding of history, life, and culture and that honest examination of the past can lead to healing and liberation in the present.
