Bird Conservation 3 focuses on the forest habitats of North America and the birds that call them home: what they were like before the arrival of the Europeans, what has happened up to the present, and what may be in store for them in the future. The contributors trace changes in bird populations through time and relate these changes to specific changes in forest environments. The volume also includes recommendations for preserving some of the biotic diversity of North America, emphasizing the need to save mature forests.
