Written by one of the twentieth-century's foremost modern Trinitarian theologians The Christian Doctrine of God remains a classic ground work for scholars and students alike. In the book Thomas F. Torrance offers a detailed study of the most profound article of the Christian faith - the Holy Trinity. Torrance adopts a holistic approach when examining the inter-relatedness of the three persons - Father, son, and Holy Spirit - and their dynamic Communion with the Being and Nature of God. Combining immense academic range with his characteristically fresh theological perspectives, Torrance builds a significant theological bridge between ancient and modern, as well as between the Roman and Protestant theology; he engages deeply with the Church Fathers and discusses the ontological nature of God. Here Torrance conveys a simple message - the doctrine of the Trinity is the doctrine of God. This Cornerstones edition includes a new introduction written by Professor Paul D. Molnar, in which Molnar sets Torrance's classic work in its modern context and considers how it continues to influence the way we think about the Trinity today.

There are three kinds of knowledge. The knowledge of the world, the knowledge of Scripture and the knowledge of God! The worthiest of these is the knowledge of God. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (Philippians 3:8) Everything depends on this, including whether to gain eternal life or not (Joh. 17:3). I want to know God, not just simply to have the knowledge of Scripture. However, I didn’t really know God much although I was well versed in Scripture. I was always sorry and discontented about this. Then, recently, Bobby Conner, a world-renowned prophet, prophesied to me as follows. “You will continue to write many books. Next time, you will be writing a book about God’s glory and beauty. The revelation of God’s glory and beauty will be downloaded unto you. So, you will write about His glory and beauty.” [re-phrased] I’ve written over thirty books so far. However, a book dealing with the glory and beauty of God is a different matter. I had wanted to write a book on this subject from a long time ago. However, I couldn’t do so because I knew God only a little. So, when I was listening to the prophecy, I doubted, thinking ‘Will such a thing really happen? Will this be really possible?’ Then, on the week when I received the prophecy from Bobby Conner, I indeed learned many things about God. It got started as I read Roland Buck’s book, Angels on Assignment, and the knowledge of God came upon me throughout the time of Bobby Conner’s conferences. I felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to preach and publish a book with this, repeatedly and very strongly. So, I have written a book which is this one. Thus, please read this book very carefully and make sure to digest it. Then, all of you, like me, will be transformed to ones who really love the Lord, from ones who desire to love the Lord.

Scripture reveals a God who meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be. No More Faking Fine is your invitation to get honest with God through the life-giving language of lament. If you've ever been given empty clichés during challenging times, you know how painful it is to be misunderstood by well-meaning people. When life hurts, we often feel pressure--from others and ourselves--to keep it together, suck it up, or pray it away. But Scripture reveals a God who lovingly invites us to give honest voice to our emotions when life hits hard. For most of her life, Esther Fleece Allen believed she could bypass the painful emotions of her broken past by shutting them down altogether. She was known as an achiever and an overcomer on the fast track to success. But in silencing her pain, she robbed herself of the opportunity to be healed. Maybe you've done the same. Esther's journey into healing began when she discovered that God has given us a real-world way to deal with raw emotions and an alternative to the coping mechanisms that end up causing more pain. It's called lament--the gut-level, honest prayer that God never ignores, never silences, and never wastes. No More Faking Fine is your permission to lament, taking you on a journey down the unexpected pathway to true intimacy with God. Drawing from careful biblical study and hard-won insight, Esther reveals how to use God's own language to come closer to him as he leads us through our pain to the light on the other side, teaching you that: We are robbing ourselves of a divine mystery and a divine intimacy when we pretend to have it all together God does not expect us to be perfect; instead, he meets us where we are There is hope beyond your heartache, disappointment, and grief Like Esther, you'll soon find that when one person stops faking fine, it gives everyone else permission to do the same.

This is my testimony after reading this book in one setting: With intent, intensity and integrity LaCretia wrote this book and it is indeed a page turner. Even though I know at least seventy percent of her testimony because I was a personal witness to it and knew most of the family and friends that she graciously changed their names to protect; I honestly don't think they would want to be protected. I think that they would be as I am, so Godly proud of LaCretia for telling her story honestly, deeply, passionately, and beautifully. She is more than transparent in her sharing; completely exposed and tremendously truthful about her inner feelings and painful journey. She shares her vulnerabilities in such a way that you find yourself saying, "I should be so courageously honest about my own addictions." I want this book to get into the hands of women from all walks of life because I know somewhere between these lines they will find their "lonely, loveless, painful, hopeful, vulnerable, truthful, longing, and most of all they will like LaCretia come to know that God's love "without condemnation" is available to them as well. My prayer is that wherever each woman finds her state in life to be while reading this book, she will receive the message of unfailing love and receive the resolve to trust God with her pain and her plans. Great job LaCretia, and awesome pen. Get this book into the hands of women who need it NOW.
