The proportion of all households with television sets continued to increase in the United States, according to the results of a sample survey made by the Bureau of the Census, Department of Commerce. This survey, made in August 1956, showed that 76 percent of all households had television sets; this compares with 73 percent for February 1956 and 67 percent for June 1955. In 1950, the first time that a question on television was included in a census, only 12 percent of all households had television sets.

Four out of five households in the United States have one or more television sets, according to the results of a sample survey made by the Bureau of the Census, Department of Commerce.
