Nolichucky, the lone house on Burnt Mountain, appears to be a secluded family lake home, forever frozen in the 1930s. But beneath its placid exterior lies a secret history and a mysterious supernatural power that profoundly affects young Luke Brooks. After spending a seemingly peaceful weekend there with his father and two teenaged friends, Luke's life is forever changed and the group must confront an unexpected and potentially world-altering destiny.

From one of our most acclaimed writers comes this dramatic tale of a well-born Southern woman whose life is forever changed by the betrayal of her mother and by the man she loves. Growing up, the only place tomboy Thayer Wentworth felt at home was at her summer camp - Camp Sherwood Forest in the North Carolina Mountains. It was there that she came alive and where she met Nick Abrams, her first love...and first heartbreak. Years later, Thayer marries Aengus, an Irish professor, and they move into her deceased grandmother's house in Atlanta, only miles from Camp Edgewood on Burnt Mountain where her father died years ago in a car accident. There, Aengus and Thayer lead quiet and happy lives until Aengus is invited up to the camp to tell old Irish tales to the campers. As Aengus spends less time at home and becomes more distant, Thayer must confront dark secrets-about her mother, her first love, and, most devastating of all, her husband.

The Book of Revelation is the only book in the Bible that promises a blessing to those who "read and hear the words of this prophecy", yet our nineteenth century interpretation has caused it to be scarcely mentioned in pulpits today. When it is mentioned, it is only referred to as a list of horrors that must be avoided at all cost by sneaking out the back door of the "secret any moment rapture". I don't believe that this is the blessing that God had in mind. This book is an unfolding of the keys to understanding and meaning of the signs and symbols that make up the Revelation that God has led me into through the last four decades. Who would have thought that the answer to the signs and symbols in the book of Revelation are found in the Bible itself.Because of the progressive nature of truth, I believe that God is finally, in this day, unlocking the truth that has the power to change our vision and life forever. This book is by no means the final word on Revelation, but I pray that it will at least point us in the right direction, and be the catalyst for much more illumination of the plan and purpose of God for his people. I believe that any true seeker of the truth will hear the truth bell ring loud and clear as they read and hear the words of this book.

A deep shroud of mystery surrounds the book of Revelation, and it lends itself to a wide variety of interpretations. Its style and symbolism intimidate us and leave us bewildered; yet there is a thread of continuity and strength permeating its pages. Not just another book on Revelation, Dennis LaValley's "Revelation: Beyond the Cross" cuts through layers of poor translation and error to solve the problems presented by hundreds of years of misinformation. In a conversational style, LaValley writes to reveal Revelation's true purpose: the full, vivid story of Jesus's return to heaven after his ministry on Earth. Through meticulous research, LaValley places Revelation back in the Bible, endows it with the authority of Scripture, and shows its relevance to the other books of the Bible and to the first-century Christian. He breaks down Revelation chapter by chapter and interprets the visions and symbols in accordance with the principles of apocalyptic literature using Scripture, not opinion. "Revelation: Beyond the Cross" shatters the bonds of tradition and superstition and strips away the mystery to reveal the pure and simple truth of the Gospel.
