The Boyles family was instrumental in establishing Mount Olive Church and for a long time was the most active and influential family name in the Church. Of the six names on the original deed, five of them are Boyles'; William Boyles gave the land and building, two of his sons, Alexander and Martin witnessed his signature and his first cousins William B. Boyles and Isham Boyles were two of the original Trustees.
