They deliberately chose to present original documents, in full or by quotation, rather than to paraphrase their contents in their own language. Very detailed oriented. The contents of this book is intended to portray the development of the county, side-by-side with the history of its past. It includes portraits and biographical sketches of representative men of each era, as well as illustrations of their homes and their surroundings, showing the county at the time this book was first printed in 1882.
