Though the percentage of Hispanics in universities continues to grow, few Hispanic women/Latinas advance into leadership positions; instead, many are constrained by a glass ceiling. The purpose of this study is to explore the barriers, challenges, and factors to the success of a Hispanic Woman's academic journey. The research question: What are the experiences of Hispanic Women in pursuing higher education? This qualitative study explored the educational pursuit of three Hispanic Women who obtain a degree from an institution of higher education. The researcher conducted one on one interviews using a semi-structured interview protocol to gather the data. Through data analysis, the results revealed three significant themes that emerged from this study: (a) Family and Social Support, (b) Family expectations (c), and personal growth. The results aligned with existing literature on Hispanic women and higher education; however, they were several limitations to this study. In addition, this study contributed to the significant lack of research done on women of color and their academic journey.
