This book started as research for a case study that examined how secondary school teachers in Haiti perceived their ability to meet the educational needs of their students after the January 2010 earthquake. The methodology employed a triangulated design through surveys, face-to-face interviews, and focus groups throughout the study. Results demonstrated that high-efficacy teachers effectively preserved classroom management by utilizing an effective instructional design that truly engaged students in learning even at times of harsh conditions, whether it is a pandemic alike COVID-19, a hurricane, school mass shooting, an earthquake or other types of natural disasters.
