Excerpt from Harvard College, Class of 1864: Secretary's Report, No. 4; June, 1871 June, 1874 The record of domestic events fills up a large part of this Report, and it is noticeable that the bachelors for the first time are forced to hand in a minority report, and that the descendants of the Class are rapidly increasing. I would again acknowledge my indebtedness to Sprague for valuable assistance in the preparation of the manuscript and the correction of the proofs of this Report, and my thanks to those of the Class who replied promptly and in detail to my circular. In accordance with a vote of the Class Committee, and agreeably to the expressed wishes of many of the Class, a Class Supper will hereafter annually take place on the evening preceding Commence ment Day. The next Report will be published in 1879. Renewing the wish which I expressed at the close of my last Report, that this record may serve to strengthen the love we have for our class and the interest which we feel in each other's welfare. Excerpt from Harvard College, Class of 1864: Secretary's Report No; 8, 1864-1914 In preparing these biographical sketches I have had to rely, as heretofore, on each member. In response to my circular, asking for information, I have heard from all the graduates and, with one exception, from all the non-graduates. The Class is indebted to Robins for the heliotype of our part Of the procession of Classes to the Stadium on Class Day, June 16, 1914, and to Kennedy for the heliotype of the bronze tablet in the new wing of the Gray Herbarium. It is a remarkable fact that we have the same Class Secretary and Class Committee as were chosen during our Senior year. TO my associates on the Class Committee I once more desire to' express my appreciation of the ever ready and cheerful assistance they have rendered during our fifty years of service. With the best wishes for all, and with the hope that, as the years go by and our numbers grow less, we shall all the more closer keep together.
