In The Atheist’s Way, Eric Maisel teaches you how to make rich personal meaning despite the absence of beneficent gods and the indifference of the universe to human concerns. Exploding the myth that there is any meaning to find or to seek, Dr. Maisel explains why the paradigm shift from seeking meaning to making meaning is this century’s most pressing intellectual goal.

Nick Morgan shows how anyone can be an effective speaker by presenting an image of authenticity and respect for their audience, whether in a group presentation or a one-on-one conversation. He presents a four-step process, perfected in his teaching at Harvard, that enables the reader to use their own personal speaking style while becoming a more persuasive and charismatic communicator and leader. The basis of this process is the fact that when words and body language are in conflict, body language wins every time. This isn't easy to overcome, because normally body language is immediate, while the words lag slightly behind, and even a momentary conflict is perceptible to the audience. The key to success is to train your body language to unconsciously align with your message. The four steps: Form the attitude and intent to be open, and then let your body naturally express that intent. This feeling of openness will naturally affect the content of what you are saying, and it's that natural evolution that is at the heart of the process. Become connected to your audience. This creates a mutual energy, and you will naturally begin to think in terms of what the audience wants and needs in shaping your content. Ask yourself, what's my underlying emotion? Why does this matter to me? Becoming passionate about what you have to say naturally makes your audience care about it too. Really listen to the audience. Understanding their needs and reactions will enable you to direct your communication in mutually beneficial ways.

The past comes back to haunt our rakish captain in this swashbuckling historical naval adventure Alan Lewrie is still captain of the HMS Proteus, one of the British Navy's newest frigates. But Lewrie's amorous escapade comes back to haunt him when an unidentified individual writes to his wife Caroline, outlining some of the finer points in his illustrious past. But Lewrie already has his hands full as he and Proteus are assigned to the Caribbean Sea to intercept French and Dutch traders, only to become involved in the slaves' revolt in Haiti. Beset and distracted though he might be, it will take all of Lewrie's pluck, daring, skill, and his usual tongue-in-cheek deviousness, to navigate all the perils in a sea of grey. Tenth in The Alan Lewrie Naval adventures, Sea of Grey will appeal to fans of Iain Gale and George MacDonald Fraser. Praise for Dewey Lambdin ‘You could get addicted to this series. Easily’ New York Times Book Review 'The best naval series since C. S. Forester’ Library Journal ‘Fast-moving... A hugely likeable hero, a huge cast of sharply drawn supporting characters: there's nothing missing. Wonderful stuff’ Kirkus Reviews

More than just fixing what ails them, many therapists today seek to help clients achieve personal and professional goals and navigate life changes successfully-a variety of practice called life coaching. This book offers a complete strategy professionals can use to incorporate life coaching into their practices. Becoming a Life Coach compares the role of the therapist to that of the life coach; the role of the patient to that of the client; the service of the mentally ill to that of the mentally healthy; treatment to collaboration; and finally the differences in professional standing between these two endeavors. Using real coaching exercises, the book teaches therapists everything they need to know to start and maintain a successful coaching practice. It includes information about necessary skills, tips on integrating coaching and therapy, business models, marketing advice, and more.

This book is a mix of simple short stories and poetry. Some are of a more serious spiritual nature, and some are just for fun. Most of all they are about feelings and memories. The life of a cowboy is a special and unique one. Mine has been mixed with the life that is shared with God first and then children. It is a combination which has brought out unique way of thinking and a life I consider a privilege to share with you. I hope it brings you enjoyment, smiles and yes, even a few longings. Pour a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy life, and Thank You for letting me be a part of it.
