Kingdom wisdom--the kind of wisdom sought and celebrated by Solomon and other wise leaders in the Scriptures--is mapped out in this book to set you on a course for real impact in your leadership and the lives of those you lead and mentor.

Although raised Roman Catholic, Susan Stabile was ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist nun and devoted 20 years of her life to practicing Buddhism before returning to Catholicism in 2001. In Growing in Love and Wisdom, she draws on this unique dual perspective to explore the value of interreligious dialogue, the spiritual dynamics that operate across faith traditions, and how Buddhist meditation practices can deepen Christian prayer. She begins by examining the values and principles shared by the two faiths and shows that both traditions seek to effect a fundamental transformation in the lives of believers. Both stress the need for experiences with deep emotional resonance that goes beyond the level of concepts to touch the heart. The center of the book offers 15 Tibetan Buddhist contemplative practices, adapted for Christian use. Stabile provides clear instructions on how to do these meditations and helpful commentary on each, explaining its purpose and the relation between the Buddhist original and her Christian adaptation of it. Throughout, she highlights the many remarkably close parallels between the teachings of Jesus and the Buddha. The meditations offered in this unusual book will be extremely useful to thoughtful Christians, to those responsible for giving spiritual direction, and also to Buddhist sympathizers who will be intrigued and pleased to see familiar contemplations handled so skillfully by a former Buddhist practitioner who has gratefully learned so much from her former religion and now introduces the riches of that tradition to her fellow Christians.

Timeless wisdom on growing old gracefully from one of ancient Rome's greatest philosophers Worried that old age will inevitably mean losing your libido, your health, and possibly your marbles too? Well, Cicero has some good news for you. In How to Grow Old, the great Roman orator and statesman eloquently describes how you can make the second half of life the best part of all—and why you might discover that reading and gardening are actually far more pleasurable than sex ever was. Filled with timeless wisdom and practical guidance, Cicero's brief, charming classic—written in 44 BC and originally titled On Old Age—has delighted and inspired readers, from Saint Augustine to Thomas Jefferson, for more than two thousand years. Presented here in a lively new translation with an informative new introduction and the original Latin on facing pages, the book directly addresses the greatest fears of growing older and persuasively argues why these worries are greatly exaggerated—or altogether mistaken. Montaigne said Cicero's book "gives one an appetite for growing old." The American founding father John Adams read it repeatedly in his later years. And today its lessons are more relevant than ever in a world obsessed with the futile pursuit of youth.

Over the years I have collected and accumulated a number of, what I call: Bits and Pieces of Kingdom Wisdom and Revelations. This book contains some of my favorite, power pack, key words of wisdom and revelations. As you read you will understand my reason for using this title. The little bits and pieces in this book will, either, add too, or change your concept about certain views in Christendom and kingdom insight. The title of this book is not mentioned throughout the book; in reading you will, also, understand why. For instance, this book is not written with much detail, or with exhaustive information about any particular subject. Most of my views are short with a proverbial fl avor; this means, that sometimes it may seem as if you are actually, reading proverbs. Some of these sayings might be viewed as, idioms, motto and some, as I said, have the fl avor of a proverb, which from a kingdom perspective, I believe, fit the messages in this book perfectly. Most of these proverbial sayings were conceived in my spirit and were birthed by the Holy Spirit, often times, when I was in prayer. Many years have passed since I started recording these sayings. I believe this book of Spirit filled wisdom shouldve been blessing people everywhere long ago. My greatest desire for this book is that every reader will discover a greater passion for purpose, and a greater desire to grow in kingdom revelation, which will be beneficial for kingdom living. This book contains a wealth of, what I believe to be: wise spiritual snacks, lunch and occasionally, readers might discover a full meal to dine on, which iswithout a doubtgood for the spirit, soul and body.

Is it possible for church leaders to use biblical and secular leadership concepts in a way that keeps Christ—not the marketplace—at the center of their mission? Drawing on biblical material and business wisdom, In Pursuit of Great AND Godly Leadership explores the critical leadership decisions and practices that shape the success of Christian organizations. These decisions are illustrated in compelling interviews with over forty leaders of churches, universities, denominational bodies, and international ministries. Mike Bonem leverages his background as an MBA-trained manager and an experienced church leader to bridge the gap between the analytical and structured world of business and the faith-driven approach that is essential for healthy churches. Written to offer practical solutions for senior pastors, executive pastors, key laypeople, and leaders of other Christian entities, In Pursuit of Great AND Godly Leadership clearly shows the ways that secular practices can be imported into their organizations. Bonem addresses a variety of topics such as planning, finances, personnel management, measurement, team dynamics, and organizational change. In doing so, he points to the AND that every spiritual organization should strive to achieve.
