The Parallels are collapsing into anarchy as glimmering permits competitive worlds to attract commerce-ruining other economies by encouraging vast transfers of power and money.Mrs Baker seizes control of Middle World by enacting anti terrorist laws to protect its citizens from a bogus threat. As she draws ever greater powers to herself she summons forces beyond all imagination to invade neighbouring Parallels.
