Who is the 'Devil'? And what is he due? The Devil is anyone who disagrees with you. And what he is due is the right to speak his mind. He must have this for your own safety's sake because his freedom is inextricably tied to your own. If he can be censored, why shouldn't you be censored? If we put barriers up to silence 'unpleasant' ideas, what's to stop the silencing of any discussion? This book is a full-throated defense of free speech and open inquiry in politics, science, and culture by the New York Times bestselling author and skeptic Michael Shermer. The new collection of essays and articles takes the Devil by the horns by tackling five key themes: free thought and free speech, politics and society, scientific humanism, religion, and the ideas of controversial intellectuals. For our own sake, we must give the Devil his due.

America is becoming a "ruiNation." The reason, well-known psychologist Dr. Gary Brumback, tells us is the corpocracy, the "Devil's Marriage" between powerful corporations and patronizing politicians. He proposes "Democracy Power," a revolutionary but civil, peaceful force to break up the corpocracy.--publisher description.

Is the Canadian health care system becoming a victim of its own success? It has done what it set out to do – provide universal access to all medically necessary health services without financial barriers to patients – but expanding technology, an aging population, and escalating costs strain its ability to continue. It is time to explore ways to reorient and restructure the health care system and the services it provides. At the Fourth Canadian Conference on Health Economics, contributors of international reputation addressed these concerns. Their papers, collected in this volume, consider a wide range of fundamental issues related to health care policies and structures. They discuss new developments in health care delivery, assess implications of such new policies as home care and health promotion, and propose concrete alternatives for restructuring the present system to sustain universal medicine.

IT DEVELOPED INTO A DEATH THREAT... AND THEN MY PHYSICAL WELL BEING. It began at a very young age; I was inspired to be an accomplished springboard diver and an academic student. With an undefeated 3 year high school diving run I accomplished an unprecedented diving 3 time gold medal State Championship and a 3 time All America; also I earned a top 10% academic standing. At the University of Kentucky (i.e.UK) I earned a Bachelor's degree in accounting and at R.I.T. I earned a Master's degree in accounting. At UK I earned a full diving athletic scholarship which included co-captain and a closely contested outstanding 4th place finish in the SEC. I've always been and will be a devout Christian; thanks to my parents. It wasn't until my classified auditing job with the Department of Defense that my life went awry. I believe that Satan himself was trying to snatch me from my belief in Jesus Christ. A coworker kept on his regimen in blaspheming God until several times I had asked him to relent. The Government's Satanic System was and still is illegally surveillancing me and I told the Government I was going to expose them for their corrupt Satanic System. In turn, they gave me a death threat, threatened my physical well being and ever since then they have snatched away my pursuit of happiness. They are always watching my every move and up until now it has been a hellish journey. By finally publishing this book, hopefully the journey can now change direction.

Some painful news: Canada no longer has the best health-care system in the world. How might we fix Canada’s health-care system? Why would we want to? What’s stopping us from doing so? These three questions lie at the heart of this in-depth exploration of one of the biggest political and personal issues facing Canadians. Skyvington explains why change has to occur, in light of the implications of doing nothing, and describes how Canadians can and must get involved to save our health-care system. This May Hurt a Bit is meant to provide a blueprint for change once those in charge finally acknowledge the most inconvenient truth — namely, that Canada’s health-care system is in poor health.

“…people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6) Therefore, one of our best weapons is knowledge. We need to learn God’s ways so we can combat the tricks and ploys that the master trickster (Satan) uses to ensnare. This book is to help us “renew our minds”, break life-defeating habits, overcome generational curses, dispel useless myths and begin to ‘feed’ ourselves in a manner that is God honoring, health promoting and not Satan honoring and death producing. “Feeding” does not refer to just physical food, but also the mental ‘food’ we take in that keeps us defeated, down-trodden, broke and unsuccessful in our secular and spiritual life. Most of us do not know that what we are doing to our bodies, minds and spirits are not life generating or God pleasing. We have been tricked and bamboozled. This book will reveal some of the best tricks played on us. Tricks that cause needless death, severe aches, emotional pains, marital affairs, academic failures, mental problems, social concerns, sleepless nights and drug addictions (legal and illegal). Not only will this book expose what the tricks are but will tell you how to avoid and conquer their ill effects.
