Um aber den Lauf der Sturme durch mehrere Beispiele zu erlautern, fugen wir noch eine von Redfield gegebene Karte bei, in welcher der Lauf von mehreren Sturmen bezeichnet ist (Karte 2). Zwei dieser Sturme blieben innerhalb der tropischen Zone und schritten daher geradlinig fort, namlich der vom 23. Juni 1831 von Trinidad uber Tabago, Grenada, durch die Mitte von Yucatan bis in die Nahe von Veracruz, der vom 12. August 1835 von Antigua uber Nevis, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Portorico, Hayti, Matanzas auf Cuba nach Texas. Der Lauf von acht Sturmen, welche die Grenzen uberschreiten, ist hingegen folgender: Der, welcher in der Nacht vom 10. August 1831 Barbados verwustete, traf am 12. Portorico, am 13. Aux Cayes und St. Jago de Cuba, am 14. Matanzas, die Tortugas am 15., den mexicanischen Meerbusen am 16., endlich Mobile, Pensacola und Neu-Orleans am 17., so dafs er in ungefahr 150 Stunden einen Raum von 2000 Seemeilen durchlief, also mit einer...
