Excerpt from General Index of the Laws of the State of New York, Vol. 5: 1876-1877, Inclusive Resolved, That the clerk have prepared and classified, under appro priate headings, for the use of the legislature, an index to papers on file in the assembly from 1873 to 1877, both inclusive; an index to bills presented to the assembly and not acted on therein during the same period a complete index to the laws of the State from 1875 to 1877, inclusive; and also, an index to all bills printed in 1876 and 1877, and to incorporate the same alphabetically with a like index heretofore made of bills printed during and since 1870, and that five hundred copies of each index be printed and bound, under his dircc tion, and placed in the senate and assembly libraries for future refer ence and distribution.
