Charles Henry Smith (1857-1933) was the son of William Harper Smith (1836-1881) and Catherine Amanda Sullivan of the Double Springs community near Anderson, South Carolina. He married Mary Texanna Cromer (1860-1922) in 1874. They were the parents of twelve children. Their son James Franklin Smith married Maggie Colvin in 1901. Several generations of descendants are given.
