Abraham Finch (ca. 1585-ca. 1642) and his three sons immigrated to America with the "Winthrop Fleet" in 1730 and settled first at Watertown, Massachusetts. He died at Weathersfield, Connecticut. Record lists children and grandchildren of each generation but chiefly follows line of descent to the author, Shirley Neta Finch. She was born in 1927 at Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Richard Bernard Finch (1904-1977) and Hilda Wesley Wallace Finch (1910-1980). She married Bruce Clifton Martin in 1946.
