A verse by verse study of Genesis. This book is the result of an Adult Sunday School Class I led over the course of 30 weeks in 2018. Many eyebrows were raised when I suggested a verse-by-verse study of Genesis, back in the fall of 2017, because of the sheer magnitude of material. Many more smiling faces said "I'll bet that would be good." Many of my class attendees requested copies of my written presentation when they knew they were not going to make a class, or missed the previous week. When I floated the idea of putting the whole works in a book, most of my class and some in other classes said "Yes, please!"

Publishers are removing things from new Bibles! Publishers of modern Bible versions have been removing words, phrases, and even whole verses, but their readers are often unaware of it. Few people know the Bible well enough to notice when something has been taken out. But the results are hard to believe. The removal of one tiny word turns Jesus into a liar. Callers into Christian talk shows have even used this to say that it’s okay for a Christian to lie. After all, they say, Jesus did it. A verse that’s completely missing from some of the most popular Bibles available today completely removes one of the basic doctrines found in every evangelical church. When David Daniels shows this one to people they just stand with their mouths open and say, “I can’t believe it!” In another case, Jesus’ own words are removed, taking out a famous phrase in which Jesus explains why He came to earth. People react with: “They took out Jesus words! How can they do that?” This information has been right under our noses for years, but no one has ever taken the time to cull through this many Bible versions and find the missing parts. Author David Daniels did the research and now releases his results for the Christian world to see what is really missing. How about your Bible? Is it on the list of Bibles with pieces taken out? You might be surprised when you look at what’s missing.

Has dividing the Bible into chapters and verses led to sampling Scripture rather than reading it deeply? According to author Glenn R. Paauw, misreading the Bible has divorced it from its context, leaving only a database of quick answers to life's questions. In these pages he introduces us to seven new understandings of Scripture to help us read and live the Bible well.

“Women of the Word will help all who read it to find their way deeper into the Word of God without having to be seminary educated, a genius, or even an especially good student.” —Kathy Keller We all know it’s important to study God’s Word. With over 250,000 copies sold, Women of the Word has helped countless women with a clear and concise plan they can use every time they open their Bible. "Lost Treasures of the Bible contains photographs and detailed descriptions of more than one hundred biblically significant archaeological objects housed in over twenty-five museums worldwide. Clyde Fant and Mitchell Reddish's selection of artifacts - many of them relatively unknown - illuminates the history, culture, and practices of the biblical world as a whole. Each entry also explains that particular object's relevance for understanding the Bible and locates the artifact not only at its museum site but also by its specific identification number, which is particularly valuable for smaller and lesser-known objects - true "lost treasures.""--BOOK JACKET.
