Living Faith is a groundbreaking exploration of the meaning and dynamics of Christian faith today by a major theologian and social critic of our time. Jacques Ellul thoughtfully examines all aspects of the phenomenon we call faith to distill the essential characteristics of true Christianity. He argues cogently for a crucial distinction between religion, based on a faith that is nothing more than a reflection of our own circumstances and consciousness, and genuine Christian Faith, which concerns itself primarily with revelation. Such a Living Faith, he points out, is an open, honest, courageous response to a divine disclosure of the Wholly Other God that impels us beyond comfortable answers to see "everything in a light which is not that of reason, experience, or common sense."

Ensure you have the most current authoritative guidance related to Prospective Financial Information. AICPA Audit & Accounting Guides are developed and updated to provide guidance and discussions specific to current industry developments and trends. The 2012 Prospective Financial Information Guide provides information for entities that prepare prospective financial information, as well as practitioners who compile, examine and perform other agreed upon procedures on prospective financial information. This AICPA Guide has been fully conformed to reflect the new standards resulting from the Clarity Project. Fully incorporating the clarified auditing standards into this year’s edition of the guide enables auditors to further their understanding of these recently issued auditing standards, as well as begin updating their audit methodologies, resources, and tools prior to the clarified auditing standards’ effective date. Additionally, this approach gives auditors the opportunity to review and understand the changes made by their third-party audit methodology and resource providers, if applicable. The clarified auditing standards are effective for audits of financial statements for periods ending on or after December 15, 2012 (calendar year 2012 audits). This guide includes relevant guidance contained in applicable standards and other technical sources. Illustrative engagement letters, representation letters and sample reports are also included. The appendixes include excerpts from the SEC rules regarding financial projections and IRS regulations regarding tax shelter opinions. All content is reviewed by industry experts and the appropriate AICPA senior committee.

"This book will be a classic in the field. It does something no other book has done—it shows, with one of the most impressive sets of data I have ever seen, what congregations do and how they go about doing it."—Michael Emerson, author of Divided by Faith "Ammerman demonstrates rare mastery in a book that is brimming with original research and original thinking. The material is well organized, and the author has an eye for the well-turned phrase. This is a book of great importance that gives us an unprecedented picture of lived American religion while challenging stereotypes and conventional wisdom."—James Wind, President of the Alban Institute, author of Finding a New Voice: The Public Role of Mainline Protestantism

Principles of Forecasting: A Handbook for Researchers and Practitioners summarizes knowledge from experts and from empirical studies. It provides guidelines that can be applied in fields such as economics, sociology, and psychology. It applies to problems such as those in finance (How much is this company worth?), marketing (Will a new product be successful?), personnel (How can we identify the best job candidates?), and production (What level of inventories should be kept?). The book is edited by Professor J. Scott Armstrong of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Contributions were written by 40 leading experts in forecasting, and the 30 chapters cover all types of forecasting methods. There are judgmental methods such as Delphi, role-playing, and intentions studies. Quantitative methods include econometric methods, expert systems, and extrapolation. Some methods, such as conjoint analysis, analogies, and rule-based forecasting, integrate quantitative and judgmental procedures. In each area, the authors identify what is known in the form of `if-then principles', and they summarize evidence on these principles. The project, developed over a four-year period, represents the first book to summarize all that is known about forecasting and to present it so that it can be used by researchers and practitioners. To ensure that the principles are correct, the authors reviewed one another's papers. In addition, external reviews were provided by more than 120 experts, some of whom reviewed many of the papers. The book includes the first comprehensive forecasting dictionary.

Something is seriously wrong with the economy, the financial system and ultimately, our way of life. You're probably reading this because, well, you feel the same way. Perhaps you're worried about one specific scenario (the death of the banking system, hyperinflation or something else) but then again, maybe you're not able to identify specific threats. Instead, you just feel "something" is wrong. You feel it deep down inside and it haunts you. Rightfully so, in my opinion! The Age of Anomaly is here to provide much-needed clarity. My name is Andrei Polgar but a lot of you might know me as "the One Minute Economics guy on YouTube" and I've never been an economist who desperately wants to sound intelligent. Instead, through my work, I've had one goal and one goal only: making economics easy to understand, something traditional education has failed at remarkably. As time passes, my work is featured in more and more universities all over the world. Students love it, people who already graduated feel the same way and even those who aren't necessarily interested in economics become fascinated by this often misunderstood but amazing field. Why do people like what I do? For one simple reason: because it works. Through The Age of Anomaly, I've made it clear that understanding financial calamities and being prepared doesn't have to involve rocket science. Anyone can do it and frankly, everyone should do it. I've provided a "from A to Z" perspective by: 1) Analyzing quite a few hand-picked economic calamities of the past, from the Tulip Mania to the Great Depression, the Great Recession and even case studies pretty much nobody heard of such as the Short Domain Mania of 2015-2016 2) Drawing parallels and finding common denominators so as to provide tips that help readers become better and better at spotting financial storms 3) Explaining that becoming better at spotting financial storms is just not enough. Even I may very well end up being caught off-guard by the next crash and as such, it makes sense to dedicate just at much energy to becoming more resilient in general so as to better withstand anything life throws your way By becoming good at spotting financial storms as well as resilient, you'll be multiple orders of magnitude (and I consider even this the understatement of the century) better off than the average individual, who blissfully chooses to live in a bubble of ignorance!
