In celebration of 90 years of Flower Fairies publishing, we've applied a contemporary, catwalk-inspired gorgeous new design to the cover of A Flower Fairy Alphabet. The jacket design is intricately cut-out for a lace-effect and enhanced with vibrant jewel colours of ruby red and maroon. The content is a series of beautifully painted fairies in their natural habitat representing all the letters of the alphabet. This title is the first of four original Flower Fairy book re-releases with fashion-inspired covers- at the end of 2013 Flower Fairies of the Winter will be published, followed in 2014 with Flower Fairies of the Spring and Summer. When in 1923 Cicely Mary Barker created the first of the Flower Fairies books this unassuming artist could have had little idea of the immense popularity that the Flower Fairies series would enjoy. Now, more than thirty years after her death, Cicely Mary Barker's originality and skill as an artist continues to charm and delight a world-wide readership.
