This collection of poems, written by a veteran psychologist, contemplates the works of nature and touches on many human experiences and concerns. It is one man's reflection on the world around him, on unseen worlds, and the people he loves. With a playful and sometimes practical approach, the author addresses universal life themes, ranging from a child's leaving home to facing death. His relaxed and informal style appeals to a wide audience of readers, including those who do not usually enjoy reading poetry.

For years, Vine’s Expository Dictionary has been the standard word study tool for pastors and laypeople, selling millions of copies. But sixty-plus years of scholarship have shed extensive new light on the use of biblical Greek and Hebrew, creating the need for a new, more accurate, more thorough dictionary of Bible words. William Mounce, whose Greek grammar has been used by more than 100,000 college and seminary students, is the editor of this new dictionary, which will become the layperson’s gold standard for biblical word studies. Mounce’s is ideal for the reader with limited or no knowledge of Greek or Hebrew who wants greater insight into the meanings of biblical words to enhance Bible study. It is also the perfect reference for busy pastors needing to quickly get at the heart of a word’s meaning without wading through more technical studies. What makes Mounce’s superior to Vine’s? The most accurate, in-depth definitions based on the best of modern evangelical scholarship Both Greek and Hebrew words are found under each English entry (Vine’s separates them) Employs both Strong’s and G/K numbering systems (Vine’s only uses Strong’s) Mounce’s accuracy is endorsed by leading scholars

Today, Web search is treated as a solitary experience. Web browsers and search engines are typically designed to support a single user, working alone. However, collaboration on information-seeking tasks is actually commonplace. Students work together to complete homework assignments, friends seek information about joint entertainment opportunities, family members jointly plan vacation travel, and colleagues jointly conduct research for their projects. As improved networking technologies and the rise of social media simplify the process of remote collaboration, and large, novel display form-factors simplify the process of co-located group work, researchers have begun to explore ways to facilitate collaboration on search tasks. This lecture investigates the who, what, where, when and why of collaborative search, and gives insight in how emerging solutions can address collaborators' needs. Ascriptions of mental states to oneself and others give rise to many interesting logical and semantic problems. Attitude Problems presents an original account of mental state ascriptions that are made using intensional transitive verbs such as 'want', 'seek', 'imagine', and 'worship'. Forbes offers a theory of how such verbs work that draws on ideas from natural language semantics, philosophy of language, and aesthetics.

These are reflections about the use of words and how they impact our lives. When I was in college, I had a very gifted professor who stated that you can say what you want to say in a sentence with the least amount of words and have it make a world of sense. You can feel and understand the meaning without a lot of verbiage. She wrote her exact words on one of my long-winded, many-paged papers: Trop touffutoo dense, too many trees in the forest, too many leaves on the tree, or . . . you get the gist. I could have said and written in sentences of five words or less. Well, I used a few more words than five in a sentence. These are my thoughts and experiences; some, not so original, I suspect, but just as they came through me to share.
