This book is a piece of writing on financial success designed to assist you in building a strong financial future through tested principles and uncommon practices of many years of personal development effort. It explains in detail, the fundamental steps to financial success and how you can use it to your advantage. If a man change the way he thinks, and apply himself to the course of positive actions and opportunities available to him; he will be surprise at the rapid transformation the effect of the change will bring to him; more often than not, in the comfort and material things of life. We often imaging that thought can be kept secret, but it cannot; rather it rapidly crystallizes into habits, and habits solidify into circumstances. Thoughts of fear, financial insecurity, doubt, and indecision crystallizes into weak, unmanly, and indecisive habits which solidify into circumstances of failure. On the other hand, a positive and determinate thought of all kinds crystallizes into habits of grace, temperance, courage, self determination and self control. The results of such thought is success, plenty, and freedom of all kind - including financial freedom! You present circumstance is not a determinant of your tomorrow. But what you do with the opportunities that come your way today, determines the gains you receive tomorrow. Change the way you think; have the entrepreneur mentality. Don't confess success and always think poverty. The thought you allow in your mind is what germinates into character you exhibit; and the character you continually exhibit becomes your lifestyle. If you have not performed well in your finances in the past, at least be thankful that you have access to this financial toolkit. It will definitely make a huge impact on your destiny. Welcome to your season of positive progressive change for financial empowerment!

I'm Hailey Tubbs. For those who haven't met me yet, let me tell you a little about where I came from, and how I got here. I grew up on Houston's northside. I knew from an early age that I wanted more out of life, and that meant I would need more money. I started my journey to wealth working a variety of hourly jobs at local franchises. I was making enough money to get by, but "getting by" was never the goal, getting rich was. It didn't take long to realize that I wanted to be the boss, not take orders from someone else. I needed to start my own business. There was just one problem. I had no idea how to get started. On a tip, I decided to get into the tax preparation business. I took a couple years to dig in and learn the ins and outs of the tax industry, and by that second tax season I was killing it! I made enough profit to build my own ranch, and open my tax prep offices in new locations. Suddenly, I had new Taxx Bars popping up everywhere. I had achieved my goal of becoming a wealthy business owner, but I still felt like something was missing. I wanted to add additional streams of income, and this time I wanted to focus my time on helping others create the same wealth that I had achieved. I began launching multiple side projects, teaching others how to prepare taxes, and even how to buy and sell cattle. At the same time, I became interested in property investment and began buying land, and investing in property. Today, I am working with an investment firm with the goal of purchasing a couple of multi-unit apartment complexes that can be used to provide employment and affordable housing. I am committed to giving back to my community in whatever way I can, and helping others learn the skills they need to achieve their goals.

Welcome to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's Your Money, Your Goals: A financial empowerment toolkit for social services programs! If you're reading this, you are probably a case manager, or you work with case managers. Finances affect nearly every aspect of life in the United States. But many people feel overwhelmed by their financial situations, and they don't know where to go for help. As a case manager, you're in a unique position to provide that help. Clients already know you and trust you, and in many cases, they're already sharing financial and other personal information with you. The financial stresses your clients face may interfere with their progress toward other goals, and providing financial empowerment information and tools is a natural extension of what you are already doing. What is "financial empowerment" and how is it different from financial education or financial literacy? Financial education is a strategy that provides people with financial knowledge, skills, and resources so they can get, manage, and use their money to achieve their goals. Financial education is about building an individual's knowledge, skills, and capacity to use resources and tools, including financial products and services. Financial education leads to financial literacy. Financial empowerment includes financial education and financial literacy, but it is focused both on building the ability of individuals to manage money and use financial services and on providing access to products that work for them. Financially empowered individuals are informed and skilled; they know where to get help with their financial challenges. This sense of empowerment can build confidence that they can effectively use their financial knowledge, skills, and resources to reach their goals. We designed this toolkit to help you help your clients become financially empowered consumers. This financial empowerment toolkit is different from a financial education curriculum. With a curriculum, you are generally expected to work through most or all of the material in the order presented to achieve a specific set of objectives. This toolkit is a collection of important financial empowerment information and tools you can access as needed based on the client's goals. In other words, the aim is not to cover all of the information and tools in the toolkit - it is to identify and use the information and tools that are best suited to help your clients reach their goals.
