Book Four in the Loch Lonach Mystery Series ICU nurse Ginny Forbes is not inclined to divert time from the preparations for her wedding to investigate yet another suspicious death. But when the police decide her Maid of Honor is the prime suspect, Ginny vows to do whatever is necessary to clear her friend's name, including a flying trip to New Orleans to collect evidence. Caught in the act, Ginny is captured, hauled off to an alligator farm, and incorporated into an ancient and thoroughly illegal voodoo ceremony. Read what people are saying about Final Fling FIVE STAR REVIEW – Foster breathes new life into the cozy genre with a suspenseful and clever murder mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. Unlike any cozy mystery you've read, Maggie Foster has created a world that will make you want to join the town of Loch Lonach and be part of the community. Final Fling is a must-read and a must-have for every mystery reader as it possesses true originality and an upbeat spirit with Scottish charm, a suspenseful murder mystery, and a unique world view. Readers' Favorite, Liz Konkel "I absolutely love the setting for this piece! You have nailed it." Judge, Writers League of Texas, Manuscript Contest “Final Fling is the fourth in a series, but don't let that stop you. The plotting and characterizations are masterful. The pace is perfect. I never saw the end coming! One thing I can promise, if you haven't read the others, you'll want to after reading this one!” Amazon Reader, Kim S. “For anybody who loves a good mystery, I HIGHLY recommend this series and this book in particular! The concept in this book is my favorite so far! BONUS FUN-There is an element in here that seems completely implausible but is based on a true story.” Mary H., Librarian “Rich in detail, satisfyingly rife with misdirection, and offers a complete secondary story line for the red herrings. There is no problem understanding why each of the not-guilty might wish to put the victim out of everyone’s misery. A new twist is that, in this novel, all of the active red herrings (and there is one who qualifies as passive) think they might actually be guilty. My advice? Read Final Fling, then write Maggie and demand she get busy on the next book!” Amazon Reader, Clio B.

In May 1967, Scotland became the third of the six British Railways regions to dispense with the steam locomotive, bringing an iconic era of Britain’s transport heritage closer to its demise. Residing over 300 miles away, then teenaged Keith Widdowson’s pilgrimages north of the border were marathon undertakings. Abysmal overnight time keeping, missed connections, trains allegedly booked as steam but turning up as diesel – each journey could have been a disaster, but those setbacks were easily forgotten after many successes, such as in catching runs with LNER A2s, A4s, V2s and B1s, as well as BR Clans. Accompanied with brief historical data of routes and stations – many no longer extant – visited, alongside photographs from the author’s archives, this book is a collection of reminiscences from the final two years of steam that anyone with a penchant for railways will enjoy.

In this book, we will take the unique approach and read the Book of Revelation as it was meant to be read. That is we will read Revelation exactly as Apostle John wrote it, with his Hebraisms and his Jewish writing style. Taking into account John’s Jewish mindset we will embark on a very different approach to interpreting his Divinely given visions – the visions which later came to be compiled into what is now known as the Book of Revelation. First, we must look at the Book of Revelation in context and realize that it is a letter written in the first-century by a Jewish Christ follower who lived in a Roman dominated society where Roman/Greek gods were idolized and worshiped. With this in mind, we need to understand John’s mindset – being that he thought in Hebrew, but wrote in the language of the land, which was Greek. We also must realize that John’s letter was meant for a predominately Jewish audience, who may or may not have believed that Jesus was the Jewish Messiah, who lived under Roman rule, and therefore, dominated spiritual and cultural values.... values that went against those of the Jewish people who worshipped the God of Israel. Therefore, John’s letter to the people of the churches in Asia Minor was very anti-Roman. Characteristic of ancient Jewish literature was a very unique writing style. Thoroughly Jewish, John wrote with this 7 characteristic style and the Jewish people were accustomed to reading it. What are the implications of interpreting John’s letter exactly as he wrote it, with its characteristic Jewish style? Actually, several very different ideas emerge as to both the structure and the timeline of the Book of Revelation, creating interpretations that are quite unlike interpretations we may have been exposed to when studying the Bible through traditional methods. For instance, we will see that the timeline of the Book of Revelation is multidimensional and reiterative, which is very different than the typical linear and sequential interpretation we are accustomed to reading, and as modern theologians teach. We also see that using John’s style that the Book of Revelation has a very different structure than is presented in the New Testament as contained in the Bibles of today. What if the timeline of the Book of Revelation is not linear and sequential, as it has traditionally been read from beginning to end? What if the structural divisions of Revelation we are so accustomed to are artificial, and not as John originally intended them to be?

From September 1940 until May 1941, Britain - especially Greater London - suffered heavily under a barrage of day and nighttime raids by the then mighty Luftwaffe; raids which killed some 20,000 people and destroyed or damaged one million homes during what came to be known as the London Blitz. A baby blitz followed, from January to May 1944, which was destined to be the final manned bomber offensive by a much depleted Luftwaffe. Afterwards, there came the last gasp, the final blitz on London, this time delivered by the V1 flying bombs and V2 rockets which were aimed at the capital. Overall, the V weapons killed or seriously injured 31,000 in London and destroyed or seriously damaged 1.6 million houses throughout Britain. Yet despite all this, British industry, economy and morale remained largely intact.Group Captain Nigel Walpole grew up in London during the Blitz and he has traced the full history of the V1 'doodlebugs' and V2 rockets that terrorized so many at this time. He looks at the infamous missile development site at Peenemunde and the engineers who brought Hitler's horrific visions to life. He reports his vivid memories of the three Blitz campaigns and the countermeasures taken in response to them. Having been granted direct access to the history of the V weapons, he describes the evolution, development, production deployment and launch of the flying bombs and rockets. Whilst acknowledging the terrible damage inflicted by these weapons, Nigel also recognizes them as an example of Germanys extraordinary capacity for innovation and determination during one of the darkest periods of world history.
