The purpose of this final environmental impact statement (EIS) is to supplement the draft EIS which was published February 10, 1986. Together, the draft and final EISs incorporate the analyses of the environmental consequences resulting from construction and operation of the West Desert Pumping Project or Diking to Protect Critical Facilities. The final EIS, in conjunction with the draft EIS, forms the complete EIS for the project. This final EIS contains a revised Summary and a variety of new material, as well as public comments on the draft EIS and responses to those comments.
