Newly developed airborne instrumentation has made it posssible to extend the measurements of atmospheric density, temperature and pressure from the previous upper limit of 90 km to 115 km by means of the 7-inch rigid sphere method. A brief description of the instrumentation is given. Results of four rocket-borne experiments launched at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, in November 1963 and February 1964 are presented and compared with the U.S. Standard Atmosphere, 1962, and a winter atmosphere for 30 degrees latitude.
