The essential, data-driven blueprint to build trust in your organization. Did you know that trusted companies outperform their peers by up to 400%? That customers who trust a brand are 88% more likely to buy again? And that 79% of employees who trust their employer are more motivated to work (and less likely to leave)? The importance of trust is at an all-time high—just as our inclination to trust is at an all-time low. Building trust is your single greatest opportunity to create competitive advantage. With new data at its core, The Four Factors of Trust gives you practical guidance to measure and build trust in the relationships that matter the most—with your customers, workforce, and partners. Trust ultimately comes down to just Four Factors: Humanity, Capability, Transparency, and Reliability. These Four Factors make up Deloitte's HX TrustIDTM, a groundbreaking measurement tool poised to become the gold standard for evaluating organizational performance. Ashley Reichheld and Amelia Dunlop show how your organization can use HX TrustIDTM to measure, predict, and build trust to earn lifelong loyalty—and elevate the human experience with your customers, workforce, and partners. The Four Factors of Trust lays it all out in do-able parts so you can: Create better business outcomes by understanding how trust affects human behaviors Measure your company's trust score—revealing strengths, deficits, and opportunities to (re)build trust with key stakeholders Design actionable strategies to improve trust with your customers, workforce, and partners Build trust and earn loyalty through every business function from marketing to operations to talent experience With compelling stories from leading organizations—and practical applications in Marketing & Experience, Cybersecurity, HR, Sustainability (ESG), and Operations & Technology—The Four Factors of Trust will enable you to create the relationships you want to build, the organizations you want to belong to, and the world you want to live in.

A Handbook of Transcription Factors

A Handbook of Transcription Factors
Author: Timothy R. Hughes
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media

ISBN: 904819069X

Transcription factors are the molecules that the cell uses to interpret the genome: they possess sequence-specific DNA-binding activity, and either directly or indirectly influence the transcription of genes. In aggregate, transcription factors control gene expression and genome organization, and play a pivotal role in many aspects of physiology and evolution. This book provides a reference for major aspects of transcription factor function, encompassing a general catalogue of known transcription factor classes, origins and evolution of specific transcription factor types, methods for studying transcription factor binding sites in vitro, in vivo, and in silico, and mechanisms of interaction with chromatin and RNA polymerase.

Platelets and Their Factors

Platelets playa fundamental, life-saving role in hemostasis and blood clotting at sites of vascular injury. Unwanted platelet activation and arterial thombus formation are, however, implicated in the onset of myocardial infarction, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases. Acceptance that platelets play a major role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis including coronary heart disease has revolutionized the pharmacological treatment of cardiovascular diseases, and aspirin is now an essential antiplatelet drug and the golden standard for future developments. Yet the search for better and perhaps safer antiplatelet drugs is one of the most active areas of investigation in both basic and clinical research. Platelets, especially human platelets, have also emerged as one of the major models for the study of inter- and intracellular signal transduction pathways. Many biochemists, cell biologists, pharmacologists, pathologists, hematologists, and cardiologists find platelets useful for studying processes such as adhesion, inside-out and outside-in signalling through the plasma membrane, channels, calcium homeostasis, protein kinases, the network of intracellular signal transduction cascades, and the release of vasoactive substances. The aim of the editors has been to compile chapters summarizing the current state-of-the-art information on the biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacology, and physiologic and pathophysiologic roles of human platelets. We hope that this volume represents the major aspects of current platelet research although it is perhaps inevitable that certain areas are covered less thoroughly than others. We would like to acknowledge the excellent help and support of the Springer-Verlag staff, in particular that of Ms. Doris Walker.

Release: 2011-06-23

ISBN: 3642219187

This book chronicles the development of graph factors and factorizations. It pursues a comprehensive approach, addressing most of the important results from hundreds of findings over the last century. One of the main themes is the observation that many theorems can be proved using only a few standard proof techniques. This stands in marked contrast to the seemingly countless, complex proof techniques offered by the extant body of papers and books. In addition to covering the history and development of this area, the book offers conjectures and discusses open problems. It also includes numerous explanatory figures that enable readers to progressively and intuitively understand the most important notions and proofs in the area of factors and factorization.
