The extraction of uranium from raw lignite as well as from lignite ash samples has been investigated. The uranium extractions obtainable under various leaching conditions and procedures are compared. Raw lignite yielded 92 per cent [sic] of its uranium to carbonate leach solutions, and a uranium recovery of 96 per cent [sic] was realized by a dilute sulfuric acid leach at 95[degree]C. of a lignite ash.
