The report presents performance and steering characteristics of cycloidal propellers obtained from model tests for a series of cycloidal motions with various pitch ratios. Most of the results presented are for a six-bladed cycloidal propeller. Some performance characteristic curves obtained for a propeller with two and three blades are also included for comparison. Open water test results of four high-pitch cycloidal propellers are reported herein. They were tested at various steering angles over a range of advance coefficients. The results show high thrust and maneuvering capability with these propellers at high advance - coefficients indicating the potential for high-speed application of these propellers. (Author).
