38413 The shock of entry into World War II proved to be energizing to the nation and to us as a people. Rather than the grand actions that historians would have us believe is the story of war, these stories are human stories, stories of the men who put their life on the line out of a sense of duty, of responsibility, of patriotism, of loyalty to comrades. Mostly though, their choices came about because they were in situations that gave them the choice of doing what was needed, of dying, of redemption or for some battlefield situations, of escaping into insanity. Within the civilian population something can be seen of their effort and their sacrifice that produced the goods of war that made winning possible. Not thinking of themselves as heroic or unusual, their stories, for the most part, were unknown to the families of the individuals telling them. I have been fortunate that within family and friends I have uncovered the previously untold stories of civilian as well as soldiers that provide a broad picture of involvement in a spectrum of actions during that period of time identified as WW II. These stories range from the commonly accepted stories of battles and battlefield action to the story of a young woman living through the occupation of Holland and resulting starvation as well as that of her cousin who spent the war in Germany as a labor prisoner, where he endured with the German people the massive bombings that killed at least 12,000 people in the city of Frankfurt. Much of the military action described is of campaigns in the Pacific Theater where I spent 22 months in a non-combat role. Twin brothers were also there and engaged in six major campaigns beginning with Tarawa, Saipan, Guam, and Okinawa to provide an unforgettable picture of ground war action. One friend was living in Honolulu during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Another friend was involved in the Normandy attack, a cousin was badly wounded in a B-17 attack on Germany and another friend was involved in the final drive on Germany. On the civilian front we see female involvement in war production as well as the strain of caring for family under the burdens of wartime privation and lack of male support while often dealing with the threat of family loss. To help celebrate the end of th

Author Bio: As an imaginative only child, I began writing at an early age, often skipping high school classes to attend journalism and creative writing classes with my friend, at his school, Boston University. Self-raising four daughters while establishing a career as an electrologist /esthetician, I owned a large day spa for 32 years. I have written murder/mystery/comedy dinner theater shows that ran for eight years in the Greater Boston area. I taught art to youngsters and adults and visited art museums throughout the world. On one of my trips I was fortunate to visit the Huntington in San Marino, California. I was mesmerized when I saw all the beautiful first editions and numerous art collections. This visit gave me the inspiration to write "Beyond Murder." Keywords - Fiction, Abuse, Mystery, Adventure, Thriller, Romance

SLESGE BOLTON has powers that he didn't understand! Then he met Cathy and his whole world began to explode about him. Cathy told him about the council and the living blood that they both carried. She told him the Navaho revered him and considered him a God. Only after visiting the secret place with the tribal elder and attending the council of the chiefs he realized his life would never be the same. Could he be this Kuno and take on a quest of the unknown danger? Were the protectors within the council strong enough to take on the secret commission that was seeking to rule the world? Could the council's friend in high government places survive? Were his gifts of wonder enough to escape the hands of defeat? A hundred questions loomed before him and he realized that each must be dealt with and each must be solved. The elder had told him that the epic battle between Kuno and the evil one would be fought high in the mountains and that only one would enter the 1000 years of peace.
