It seems that everywhere we look these days, we see more and more people carrying weight. To someone on the outside, they may only see the unhealthy side effects of poor diet and pass judgements on the person’s ability to care for themselves. What may not be seen is the deep layers of emotional baggage that this person is carrying and their lack of self-love that ultimately affects their choices when caring or ultimately not caring for themselves. The baggage is really layering what we have acquired throughout this lifetime and others, and it has manifested into physical weight that we carry in our bodies, emotional weight, and spiritual weight in the form of karma. The purpose of this book is to teach you how to release this weight from your spirit, mind, and body. I have learned from my own experience that to truly lose weight, we must complete the inner work of all the aspects of our lives. By looking at those difficult pieces of ourselves that is our weight, we bring to the surface many destructive emotions. By working through these emotions and facing them, rather than stuffing them away, we are able to overcome this weight once and for all. This book is not really about changing your diet but, instead, is about transforming all aspects of yourself and changing your life!

It seems everywhere we look these days; we see more and more people carrying weight. To someone on the outside they may only see the unhealthy side effects of poor diet and pass judgements on the person’s ability to care for themselves. What may not be seen is the deep layers of emotional baggage that this person is carrying and their lack of Self Love that ultimately affects their choices when caring or ultimately ‘not caring’ for themselves. The baggage is really layering that we have acquired throughout this lifetime and others and it has manifested into; physical weight that we carry in our bodies, emotional weight, and spiritual weight in the form of karma. The Enlightenment Pie Food journal has been created to serve as a workbook in conjunction with Enlightenment Pie. This journal represents step one of the Enlightenment Pie process; become aware. To become aware is to practice mindfulness, learn how to be mindful of both your physical body and your emotional body in relation to your food choices and your weight, and to learn basic meditation and contemplative practices to help you move through your inner work with ease and apply your learnings in your daily life. This journal gives you space to write down your thoughts that come from the self-inquiry questions and contemplative practices throughout the book. Included are short recaps of the activities from Enlightenment Pie to help guide you through the journal and answer the tough questions throughout. At the back of the journal you have thirty food sensitivity tracking templates. This allows you to track how your food and your emotions are impacting you throughout a thirty-day time period. Enlightenment Pie is a process to teach you how to release weight from your Spirit, mind and body. I have learned from my own experience that to truly ‘lose weight’ we must complete the inner work in ALL aspects of our lives. By looking at those difficult pieces of ourselves that is our weight; we bring to the surface many destructive emotions. By working through these emotions and facing them - rather than ‘stuffing them away’; we are able to overcome this weight once and for all. This journal is not really about changing your diet but instead transforming all aspects of your Self and changing your life!In this journal I outline the process of completing inner work to heal the baggage that is affecting your weight:1.Meditation – Learn the basics of meditation to help you move through your inner work with ease and how to incorporate practice into your daily life. In a romantic adventure that travels the globe, The Enlightenment of Bees beautifully explores what it means to find the sweet spot in life where our greatest passions meet the world’s greatest need. Sometimes a shattered heart leads to an amazing journey. At twenty-six, apprentice baker Mia West has her entire life planned out: a Craftsman cottage in Seattle, a job baking at The Butter Emporium, and her first love—her boyfriend, Ethan—by her side. But when Ethan declares he “needs some space,” Mia’s carefully planned future crumbles. Adrift and unsure where her future leads now, Mia joins her vivacious housemate Rosie on a humanitarian trip around the world funded by a reclusive billionaire. Along with a famous grunge rock star, a Rwandan immigrant, and an unsettlingly attractive Hawaiian urban farmer named Kai, Mia and Rosie embark on the adventure of a lifetime. From the slums of Mumbai to a Hungarian border camp during the refugee crisis, Mia’s heart is challenged and changed in astonishing ways—ways she never could have imagined if she hadn’t opened herself up to the opportunity. As she grapples with how to make a difference in a complicated world, Mia’s journey through self-discovery leaves her with the choice between the past she left behind and a new budding dream in her heart. “I combed through the pages with delight. This book is going to cause a real buzz.” —Debbie Macomber, #1 New York Times bestselling author

As a young boy, Dave Crehore moved with his parents from northern Ohio to the shipbuilding town of Manitowoc on the shores of Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan, where the Germanic inhabitants punctuate their conversations with “enso,” the local radio station interrupts Beethoven for commercials, and the outdoors are a wellspring of enlightenment. Crehore’s stories of his youth in 1950s Wisconsin are peppered with engaging characters and a quiet wit. A grouse-hunting expedition goes awry when an eccentric British businessman bags an escaped bantam rooster with a landing net. Crehore's great-grandfather gets in trouble one Christmas when he sneaks a whoopee-cushion under a guest’s seat. The elderly Frau Blau gets trapped in an outhouse by a shady auctioneer during a farm sale. Through all the adventures—and misadventures—in a small town and in the great outdoors of Wisconsin, family is always at the center. This gently humorous look back at a baby-boomer’s awakening to adulthood will be appreciated by members of any generation. An Enlightenment Intensive offers a distinct method of personal growth. It is not a religion, a branch of Zen or Yoga, or part of any other system. It does not offer any guarantees or promised results. Instead, this "pure practice" offers a place for people to explore the ultimate questions of existence with practical guidance at each step. This book is written for those people seeking a deeper understanding of who and what they really are, and is meant to help readers make an informed decision about whether an Enlightenment Intensive is right for them.

The eighteenth century Enlightenment marks the beginning of the modern age when the scientific method and belief in reason and progress came to hold sway over the Western world. In the twentieth century, however, the Enlightenment has often been judged harshly for its apparently simplistic optimism. Here a master historian goes back to the sources to give us both a more sophisticated and intriguing view of the philosophes, their world and their ideas.

Have you ever been sick of everything? Have you ever felt a deep void that you can't fill with anything? Have you noticed that your nature guides you to act one way, but if you dare to follow it, you will be severely judged? Have you felt that you don't fit in completely; that there is something that you maybe still have to find and that it would make sense of everything? Have you experienced fear? Have you felt guilt? Would you like to stop feeling them forever? Are you tired of crying, of suffering and enduring pain, and even so there are still cynics who tell you that this is the road to eternal happiness? And if all the answers were always with you? And if you were always right? And if your unlimited potential was always there, and now it's ready to burst forth and show the world that the truth was always with you and not with everyone else? Angel Whitewolf, the dark enlightened one, has awakened, and he is here to show you, if you wish, that the greatest power imaginable belongs to you... and to use it, you have only to reclaim it through being yourself. It's only fair that things finally be done your way...

A provocative reassessment of the concept of an American golden age of European-born reason and intellectual curiosity in the years following the Revolutionary War The accepted myth of the “American Enlightenment” suggests that the rejection of monarchy and establishment of a new republic in the United States in the eighteenth century was the realization of utopian philosophies born in the intellectual salons of Europe and radiating outward to the New World. In this revelatory work, Stanford historian Caroline Winterer argues that a national mythology of a unitary, patriotic era of enlightenment in America was created during the Cold War to act as a shield against the threat of totalitarianism, and that Americans followed many paths toward political, religious, scientific, and artistic enlightenment in the 1700s that were influenced by European models in more complex ways than commonly thought. Winterer’s book strips away our modern inventions of the American national past, exploring which of our ideas and ideals are truly rooted in the eighteenth century and which are inventions and mystifications of more recent times.
