Edmond Hawes was born in 1608 in Solihull, Warwick, England. His parents were Edmond Hawes and Jane Porter. He married Lucy in about 1633. They emigrated in 1635 and settled in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. They had one known son, John, who married Desire Howland Gorham in 1661 in Barnstable, Massachusetts. They had thirteen children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New England.
