The High Council of Sentients is comprised of Gray Elders. Each Elder is charged with exploring, developing, and maintaining a full quadrant (or one-fourth) of the known Universe through peace, understanding and enlightenment among all its life forms (sentient and non-sentient). It was an awesome responsibility for each Gray Elder. Today, there was considerable tension at this High Council meeting. Elders were greatly concerned about the pace, direction and changes required for Earth (its newest intergalactic member). Some High Council members felt that it was dealing with a ‘petulant’ planet. Earth’s leaders felt they were being ‘bullied’ into terms unbecoming of enlightened extraterrestrials. Specifically, the High Council’s Plan for Earth could not be implemented because of three key points. First, mankind lacked a ‘one world governance’ structure capable of speaking to it with one voice. Second, mankind hesitated to fully embrace AI (artificial intelligence). Finally, mankind ignored many planetary problems, despite having pledged to address them. Simply put, Earth is now in a state of chaos and rudderless. Its leaders are desperate to find any common, unified vision for effective governance; questions persist about AI and its existential risk to mankind; and, Earth’s greatest planetary threats remain unattended. Fortunately, the Grays enlist the aid of a ‘maverick’ Ambassador and both begin to take charge. A new, seven-member continental world government is selected and installed; a plan to boost mankind’s level of intelligence is cleverly implemented; and, Earth’s newly ‘unelected’ government enacts a series of decisive protocols and takes bold action to heal Earth before it’s too late. So join this new, exciting intergalactic sci-fi thriller about how mankind seemingly “gets its act together” and takes a rightful place at the High Council’s table to help govern the Universe.

Another Dragon Fantasy for everyone who fell in love with the Dragon Lore Series and my other dragon-saturated books. Epic Urban Fantasy with Dragons! Power so old, deep, and chilling it hurts to think about it will overrun Earth if nothing changes. Targeted, furious, and fighting back, Aislinn runs wide open, gathering allies and putting her life on the line. Aislinn Lenear has traveled a long road since the dark gods invaded Earth better than three years ago. After seeing her father slaughtered in front of her, and her mother sink into madness, Aislinn built strong walls around her heart. First her bond wolf, and then Fionn MacCumhaill, changed all that, but she and Fionn are far from home free. Four of the six dark gods are still sowing destruction, and they’ve joined forces with Lemurians, a desperate lot, running just ahead of the tide of their own mortality. In a bold move, they try to coopt a group of young dragons, and very nearly succeed. Dewi, the Celtic dragon god, and Nidhogg, the Norse dragon god, banish their brood to the dragons’ home world, but they refuse to stay put. In a fast-paced, tension-riddled closure to this dystopian, urban fantasy series, Earth's Hope sweeps from Ireland to the Greek Islands to the Pacific Northwest to borderworlds where the dark gods live. Fionn’s and Aislinn’s relationship is strained to the breaking point as they struggle to work together without tearing one another to bits. Fionn is used to being obeyed without question, but Aislinn won’t dance to his tune. If they can find their way, there may be hope for a ravaged Earth. PRAISE FOR THE EARTH RECLAIMED SERIES: “The writing is superb and as usual from this gifted author the romance was a sensual delight. Hot yes but gratuitous? No. This is a story that gripped this reader and I can only hope that the follow up to it will be available soon” Goodreads Review “It takes a really strong writer to create a world so vividly that you can see it unfold before your very eyes. Ann Gimpel is just such a writer. She weaves tales of fantasy and magic so expertly, I must confess I consider her nothing short of a magician herself.” Goodreads review “A MAGNIFICENT AND TOP NOTCH READ!!” Goodreads review “WOW! The acclaimed investigative reporter and author of Confronting Collapse examines the global forces that led to 9/11 in this provocative exposé. The attacks of September 11, 2001 were accomplished through an amazing orchestration of logistics and personnel. Crossing the Rubicon examines how such a conspiracy was possible through an interdisciplinary analysis of petroleum, geopolitics, narco-traffic, intelligence and militarism—without which 9/11 cannot be understood. In reality, 9/11 and the resulting "War on Terror" are parts of a massive authoritarian response to an emerging economic crisis of unprecedented scale. Peak Oil—the beginning of the end for our industrial civilization—is driving the elites of American power to implement unthinkably draconian measures of repression, warfare and population control. Crossing the Rubicon is more than a story of corruption and greed. It is a map of the perilous terrain through which we are all now making our way.

In the last three decades, bioethics has matured into a field of study with several areas of concentration, including medical ethics, environmental ethics and more recently, genetic ethics. For reasons related to both the developmental history of the subject and to the poignancy of the problems presented, most textbooks and collections of essays have dealt with only a single area, medical ethics. In fact, to many not in the field, the word bioethics has become synonymous with medical ethics. The aim of this collection of essays, entitled New Dimensions in Bioethics: Science, Ethics and the Formation of Public Policy, is to enlarge this restrictive vision of the field as it is usually studied at universities. By combining essays relevant to medical ethics with companion essays on environmental ethics and genetic ethics, the book emphasizes similarities in the methods of analysis used in diverse bioethical problems, whether dealing with genes, with people or the environment. In this way, New Dimensions in Bioethics: Science, Ethics and the Formation of Public Policy, hopes to contribute to the intellectual unity of the subject and to suggest changes in the way bioethics can be taught and studied at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
