Jack decides to face his demons by returning to the quiet, middle-class village where he grew up, after realising he can no longer run away from his problems. He has seen every corner of the world, but he still cannot make sense of his past or trace where his mental health problems began. Jack soon discovers that there is much more going on behind closed doors, as he pieces his past together, only to find he has missed several chunks of his life. His return opens old wounds for the whole village, forcing them to confront their anxieties, fears and suppressed desires.
