Our small but dedicated staff at Nectar of Nondual Truth is pleased to offer the Autumn issue of this contemporary journal of religious and philosophical teachings to all who value spirituality and its continued existence in this world. Each issue is filled with writings of substance created by deep and thoughtful minds steeped in the principles and practices of their chosen tradition. Such commitment, as rare as it is in present times, is the result of long-standing study, conscious action, inner compassion and deep-seated meditation. Wherever these kinds of qualities are made manifest, humanity is reminded of the many blessings being bestowed upon it continually. Nectar of Nondual Truth concentrates mainly on the nondual element of religion, philosophy, and spirituality, but maintains a close watch on all other perspectives as well. This is because true nondualism is never narrow and exclusive, but latitudinous and all-encompassing. The contents of these pages are a testament to that universal orientation. From the seriously sought after humility which Christianity enjoins upon its monastic communities, to the duality-dissolving, mind-unifying insight which radical nondual Buddhism epitomizes, the avid seeker of Truth perceives the One working among the many in order to reveal to them the One. If that revelation of homogenous unity gets expressed via the treasures of religious tradition, or instead happens to appear in the serendipitous setting of the spontaneous

It turns out that Mother Nature is a brilliant chemist. Our ancestors have used indigenous herbs in daily life for thousands of years due to these plants' ability to heal and promote good health. Now modern science has identified the compounds that give herbs their medicinal qualities, scent, and flavor. The extraordinary diversity of herbal plants has the potential to improve our health and well-being, and we are wholeheartedly incorporating herbs, both fresh and dried, into our lifestyles—for well-being, healing, gardening, beauty, ceremony, and a richer, fuller life. Presented in three parts, Rodale's 21st-Century Herbal first explores the historical relationship between people and herbal plants and how it has evolved over time. In the second part, readers will delve into an A-to-Z encyclopedia of 180 of the most useful herbs from around the globe, not only familiar herbs like bilberry and nasturtium, but also cutting-edge herbs from other cultures, like red bush tea and maca, that are now available in the West. The final section highlights how herbs create a "fuller" life and features herbal cooking techniques, ways to use herbs for beauty and the bath, ideas for daily herbal use (such as green cleaning, fragrances, decor, smudging, and dyeing), gardening and growing how-tos (with illustrated garden designs), and advice for holistic herbal pet care.

From the perspective of local scientists, this book provides insight into bees and bee management of Asia, with a special focus on honey bees. Asia is home to at least nine honey bee species, including the introduced European honey bee, Apis mellifera. Although A. mellifera and the native Asian honey bee, Apis cerana, are the most commonly employed species for commercial beekeeping, the remaining non-managed native honey bee species have important ecological and economic roles on the continent. Species distributions of most honey bee species overlap in Southeast Asia, thus promoting the potential for interspecies transmission of pests and parasites, as well as their spread to other parts of the world by human translocation. Losses of managed A. mellifera colonies is of great concern around the world, including in Asia. Such global colony losses are believed to be caused, in part, by pests and parasites originating from Asia such as the mite Varroa destructor, the microsporidian Nosema ceranae, and several bee viruses. Taking advantage of the experience of leading regional bee researchers, this book provides insight into the current situation of bees and bee management in Asia. Recent introductions of honey bee parasites of Asian origin to other parts of the world ensures that the contents of this book are broadly relevant to bee scientists, researchers, government offi cials, and the general public around the world.
