Between 1985 and 1986, Afognak Native Corporation pursued permits for construction and operation of a log transfer facility in marine waters of Kazakof Bay (also known as Danger Bay), Afagnak Island. This for-profit entity needs a permit from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to cross waters of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge to transport logs to the timber market. This report is organized along the lines of an environmental impact statement.
