La dislexia, o trastorno del aprendizaje de la lectura, es un problema que afecta entre 2 y 10% de la población infantil mundial. Las variaciones en su prevalencia y en sus manifestaciones están en muchos casos vinculadas a factores sociales y culturales entre las que destacan las características de la lengua y de su sistema ortográfico. The nature/nurture debate is not dead. Dichotomous views of development still underlie many fundamental debates in the biological and social sciences. Developmental systems theory (DST) offers a new conceptual framework with which to resolve such debates.
