The purpose of this paper is to make a general study of the hybrids of corn, beans and peas. The laboritory work consists of a study of the organisms within the nodules of beans and peas and their relation to temperatures at which they best carry on the function of growth. The write-up of this experiment is also included within this report. Each of the three, corn, beans and peas, in the first section of the report, is written up into two sub-divisions: The insect pests of corn beans and peas, and, Corn, bean and pea diseases and their control. It is not the purpose of this report to delve into all of the insect pests of these plants, or into all of the diseases of these plants. It is merely to study the more important and more common diseases and insects. It is comparable to a beginning course in any prospective major field that the college offers in the respect that it is a foundation for a more pure and intensified study into this particular specialized part of the field of agriculture. I chose this subject for two major reasons, first, because of my interest in the subject and secondly, because of the practical use of which this report will be put to in later years. I have already had a good deal of experience in relation to the above crops which has given me a practical foundation for this study as well as the material that I have gathered from government pamphlets and library books.
