A Clear and Personalized Path for Discipleship Discipleship can feel like a meandering journey—we don’t know what we want, and none of the programs offered seem to get us anywhere. We need something to orient ourselves, and something to direct our steps toward a clear destination. Simple Discipleship, with its companion assessment tool, offers a plan for discipleship that is tailored to your real life and your personality, and clearly pointed in the way of Jesus. Most discipleship resources are designed as mass productions—efficient for touching many, but often failing to see individuals grow in Christ. This is the best of both worlds—an assessment tool for your entire church, combined with an achievable, personalized discipling strategy.

Because of this, churches must provide adequate and effective services to their employees. Proper descriptions of the jobs and related positions of the employees in the church are critical to having an effective staff that can best serve the community. Descriptions of what is expected of volunteers are also crucial to having sufficient servants to do the work God desires of them. This book is a collection of position descriptions, as well as the whats, whys, and hows of developing, implementing, and maintaining effective descriptions for both career employees and volunteers. In addition to the more than 170 descriptions included in the book, more than 950 descriptions are available for download.

Packed with detailed looks into the makeup of a church community, Church Ministry By Design powerfully presents a step-by-step biblical guide to organizing and effectively running a church. The church of the 21st century has a number of challenges facing it, not all of them spiritual. How the staff handles the enormity of local regulations, social pressures, and legislation will affect the way ministry is done. Church Ministry by Design provides a blueprint for organizing the church for the future, and addresses a large number of ministries the church may choose to provide for its community. Author and pastor Gary H. Woolverton brings together information that assists the staff of the church in developing, maintaining, and evaluating effective ministry and is designed to help the church thrive in the 21st century. Watch for the continuation of this ministry, as the next volume in the series, Position Descriptions by Design, is released soon.

Exploring the interrelated topics of Christology and discipleship within the apocalyptic context of Mark's Gospel, Henderson focuses on six passages: Mark 1:16–20; 3:13--15; 4:1–34; 6:7–13; 6:32–44; 6:45–52. Together, these passages indicate that the disciples failed to understand not just Jesus' messianic identity per se but the apocalyptic nature of his messiahship, as well as its implications for their own participation in God's coming reign. The implications of this for Mark's gospel as a whole are to situate Mark's Christological claims within the broader context of the apocalyptic 'gospel of God'. This lends coherence to Mark's bifocal interest in miracle and passion. It also illuminates the relationship between Mark's Jesus and his followers as those who carry forward his own mission: to demonstrate the coming kingdom of God, which is fully assured if not yet fully in view.
