Anthony Weston Dimock (1842-1918) was a Canadian financier, explorer, steamship owner and author. He was graduated from Philips Academy in 1859 and received his M. A. from Columbian University in 1872. He settled in New York and began his business career, being accepted as a member of the Stock Exchange. At the age of 23 he dominated the gold market and controlled the Banker's and Merchant's Telegraph Company at the age of 30. He was the president of the Atlantic Mail and other steamship Lines. He was a member of the Author's League of America and of the Author's Club of New York and the Camp Fire of America. His works include: Dick in the Everglades (1909), Dick Among the Lumber-Jacks (1910), Dick Among the Seminoles (1911), Dick Among the Miners (1913) and Wall Street and the Wilds (1915).
